  1. Wait, did Sean Avery (of the NHL NY Rangers) just come out (in the link about Andy Cohen, above)?

  3. Yeah, Avery came out to New York magazine. Are you insane? Like he would come out while still playing.

  4. The little girl singing was just amazing... Too bad she left out the best part of the song in my opinion. Maybe her parents told her not to sing this part? Kinda defeats the whole awesomeness of having a kid sing that song...

  6. Little Maria did do a great job. The adult male featured in Towleroad before the tune's release had left the GSBLT part put of his rendition, too, and he posted yesterday that that part was edited for the flow of the song. Really, though, I find it a bit exaggerated to consider the lyrics an ode to sexual minorities. That part is one sentence in the entire song (which contains far more ethnic references. Without that one sentence, it would have been a song about accepting your race and feeling free to love regardless of race. We're so used to hearing 4 decades of songs about ebony and ivory and red and yellow, black and white that a lot of us seem to focus on that one sentence and say , "Hey, this song mentions US!". You miss that one phrase it if you blink, though. I was listening for it the first two times it came on the radio and couldn't pin down where she ever said it.

  9. I think Born This Way works much better as a ballad. It doesn't work as a dance song. Or at least it doesn't do it for me.
