  1. Video from Ricky Martin's first "Musica + Alma + Sexo" World Tour concert, March 25 in PR...

... no wonder Puerto Rican pastor hates when Ricky has fun:

  2. Hey Steve and Andy -

Thanks for the post about the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina but the much bigger story here is that for the first time ever, a majority of Presbyteries ARE voting to change the Book of Order so that restrictions on gay ordination are removed. This past summer, the General Assembly approved the measure, and now all of the Presbyteries are voting, and many have changed their position to support gay ordination. All that is required is a simple majority. By June, it may be clear that the denomination will be open to gay ordination...

  3. That Puerto Rican pastor should offer Ricky Martin some cash. Seeing as Ricky Martin loves associating with homophobic bigots - Target, George W Bush - I'm sure a check will 'cure' him of his homosexuality.

Ricky Martin is a vile opportunist. While he is willing to climb into business-bed with bigots, the LGBT population should not trust him.

When's Ricky's next corporate gig with Target due?

Has GLAAD taken his award (which he got simply for coming out) back yet?

  4. The Madonna story regarding her attempt to create a girl's school in Malawi is sad. Clearly, she was trying to make a difference in poor peoples' lives, and the board that was hired to run this organization was incompetent and lost over $3M with nothing to show for it. Now they are bitching that they got fired and want more money? Leeches...

  5. Madonna should have just written a check to that greedy whore Ricky Martin.

  6. Steve and Andy -

I just want to echo what Tim said. The "small" news is that some Presbyteries (regional bodies of Presbyterian Churches) are voting against the amendment to remove the ban on LGBT ordination.

The "big" news is that many more Presbyteries are voting FOR the removal of the ban than in years past (the count is currently 74 yes, 53 no, with 87 yes's needed to remove the ban). If current forecasts hold true, we'll hit somewhere around 90 or 95 Presbyteries in favor of removing the ban. The General Assembly (the national legislative body) has already approved the change. This is the last hurdle to removal of the ban.

You can track progress of voting at

  8. SteveC,

you love trashing openly gay celebrities like Ricky Martin? So pathetic.

Why don't you use your time and energy to trash real enemy - Target and Ricky Martin aren't on that list.

  9. I called Ricky an insulting name here before and I researched that name and wish I could take it back...we need more info on the Target deal there are too many conflicting stories.

  10. Target and Ricky Martin are certainly not acting in the best interests of LGBT people.

  11. Ricky Martin denied for years he was gay because it made him more financially viable.

Now he conveniently comes out and is openly gay because it makes him more financially viable.

His alliance with Target increases his album sales and visibility and therefore makes him more financially viable.

Not sure why people are so shocked and surprised about his actions and priorities given his track record.

His being gay is just a part of marketing Ricky Martin now. To believe it will somehow take precedence over getting paid is extremely naive.

I wonder how much he'll get paid to perform at Rush Limbaugh's next wedding?

  12. Ginger (British GQ cover) certainly favors his grandfather. Which is to his advantage.

    Posted by: Russell | Mar 28, 2011 8:19:25 AM

  13. Ginger actually favors James Hewitt, his alleged real father… the resemblance is shocking.

    Posted by: LK | Mar 28, 2011 12:13:18 PM

  14. Yes, how can he not be James Hewitt's kid?

  15. I would tend to give Ricky M. the benefit of the doubt because it's hard for a busy person to keep up with all that is Gay. Even if you read Towleroad every day.

Besides he's just so darn hot I can't be mad at him.
