First Look: Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis'

A first look at David Cronenberg's upcoming film Cosmopolis, featuring Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon.

JoBlo notes: "The adaptation of the book by Don DeLillo, 'follows the life of newly married billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson) as he cheats on his wife (Gadon), is pursued by a stalker (Giamatti), gets attacked by a protester and gradually loses his entire fortune over the course of a single day.' Much of the story takes place in the back of a limo, but the vehicle in the photo looks more like a taxi."

  1. How do you "gradually" lose a billion dollars over the course of one day?

  2. A million here, a million there...Eventually, it adds up,

  3. I'm a big Cronenberg fan, though more of his movies that some reviewer called "venereal horror," which includes Crash with it's theme of sexual fetishes distorting and changing the body. Even if you don't like his movie there's always at least something interesting, often disturbing, in them.

So this could be good, though I've never seen any indication Robert Pattinson can act.

  4. Love old school Body Horror Cronenberg (THE FLY, VIDEODROME, SHIVERS, DEAD RINGERS)- new, gangster movie obsessed Cronenberg? Not so much. But this looks great and any excuse to oggle the beautiful and talented RPattz is always welcome...

  5. I don't get the obsession people have with Robert Pattinson. He's not attractive in any way, shape, or form, and he's not particularly a good actor.

I like Cronenberg, but I'll skip this one.

  6. Dead Ringers is an amazing movie. Doubt this will compare.

  7. This is based on the first Don Delillo book I ever read, and only after years of hype. This appears to be Delillo's attempt at being Brett Easton Ellis. I will not be reading more of Don Delillo. Not only is the story not interesting, it is also the type of scenario that only Cronenberg could, or would, make into a film. Like, not interesting. Although Cronenberg might consider this serious social commentary.

Agree with above about Patterson. Bleh.

  8. I disagree with the idiot above! Robert Pattinson is a very gifted actor and everyone has there types. Yours probably tends to run towards tubby bears. Most people find Robert Pattinson extremely attractive and not just physically. He's shy, self-effacing and radiates charm. Obviously this is lost on you. Maybe you are just angry because he isn't gay. Who cares. It is interesting that you find the time to comment on someone you "don't" find attractive.

  9. Cronenberg is very sure of his decisions . . . so he must have seen something in Pattinson . . . interesting how Cronenber will turn this movie into. Why concentrate on Pattinson . . . this is a Cronenberg movie. If Pattinson isnot up to Cronenberg's expectation, he would have kicked his ass!
