It is expected his view will evolve, at a politically opportune time, from support of civil unions to support of same-sex marriage. But evolution moves slowly, and gay marriage backers are understandably impatient... The president must makes his views clear. There can be no change without Obama's leadership. The time for half-way steps is over. It's time for Obama to lead the charge."

  1. Jeter did NOT hit his 3,000th home run today. He scored his 3,000th hit. The record for home runs in 4-5 times less than that. PLEASE CHECK YOUR FACTS. That is such an ignorant mistake.

  3. Ohh, a 4 year old (black) kid is shot in the head for being gay and it's just a sound bite but some baseball player calls his friend gay and it has its own post.

    Ouch.

Especially after the obsessive friendy about Tracey Morgan saying he would shoot his child if he was gay,,.you would think....that...maybe?

Ah. Guess not when blacks are the dead. Better when they are perpetrators.

All good in the world. Plus Beyonce is so cool. Yey......

  4. And for that tragic story of the child being murdered for being perceived as gay by his wackjob parents, and the other incidents of hate speech and hate crimes this week, the XXL magazine article takes a different light in my eyes. Yeah, things are improving and getting better, but "changed"? No, things haven't completely changed, and we still have a long way to go.

  5. Regarding collaboration between LGBT and Muslim communities, the Quran condemns homosexuality and calls for the execution of homosexual persons even more stridently than does the Bible. I did read the article this note linked to, and the author makes several good points. But overcoming the anti-gay teachings of Islam will be far more difficult than the author contemplates. It is not, I think, a natural or obvious affinity.

  6. Anyone notice that the Gays in Comics panel at Comic Con includes not one woman?

  7. "This is why the Muslim and LGBTQ communities ought to be strong allies."

This is perhaps the most delusional inversion of reality I have ever read in my life.

Muslims routinely beat, harass, and brutally murder homosexuals. All countries that have the death penalty for homosexuality are Muslim countries. Muslims have declared parts of London gay-free and beaten gays in broad daylight in Amsterdam. Gay "Palestinians" seek asylum in Israel because their families will otherwise kill them.

Islam is the most violently socially regressive force in the world today - especially where LGBT people are concerned.

  8. If Jeter hit his 3,000th home run today, he must have had over 2,700 at bats.

  9. Please don't display your stereotypical ignorance of sports by say Jeter hit his 3000th home run! Jeesh. And now, they have added another letter LGBTQ? This is getting ridiculous, I already detest being referred to as a serious of letters. Gay men are losing their hard-fought identities.

  10. Oops. Mr. Jeter did not hit his 3000th HOME RUN. It was his 3000th HIT, which happened to be a home run. The record number of home runs goes to (questionably) Barry Bonds with 762.

  11. When I had a look at that 'Why LGBT and Muslim communities should collaborate', surprise! surprise! but who should I find? Chris Stedman!
This is the atheist who is always talking about how atheists 'must' behave, and wants us all to cozy up to people of faith. Now I find him telling how the LGBT community should collaborate with Muslims.
    Bleugh!

  12. And again Andrew Belonsky, I dont want to nitpick but longtime readers are used to having the first headline beside a picture refer to the picture itself. You have done this repeatedly this week and I find it arrogant that you ignore that little but important format factor.

  13. Kate and William are staying in Hancock Park, not in the Hollywood Hills. Would be nice if you demonstrated a little knowledge about LA.

  14. Now what is it that Muslims and the LGBTIQXYZ community have in common again? Oh that's right, they both hate America, the West and capitalism. Or is that what the fools on the Left who actually believe their own nonsense THINK they have in common? Wake up, please, wake up.
