  1. RE: RTD's new show: "Instead, it's going to focus more on older gay men and some of their jealousy to the types of characters that would've been found in the original 'Queer As Folk'".

Great, a bunch of 40-somethings sitting around complaining that the twinks at the local bar won't sleep with them. :-)

That Leon Panetta link doesn't include this laughable quote:

"He wouldn't list names of al Qaeda leaders, but said there are about 10 to 20 key leaders among Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in North Africa"

So, Bin Laden was living openly in a suburban tract house and it took how long to get him? How laughable "Hey! We're about to wipe out al Qaeda....when we get 20 more of their leaders!". Pathetic.

  2. "Great, a bunch of 40-somethings sitting around complaining that the twinks at the local bar won't sleep with them."

When I read that it's about "older" gay men, I was picturing not 40-something's, but men maybe twice that age, dealing with retirement and ex-wives and grandchildren getting married healthy forty-something gay man should still be in the YOUNGER half of his adult years, even if he sees himself living an average lifespan).
But knowing the youth-centric media, you're likely right.
I remember a couple of years ago when a big deal was made of a women's magazine picking several "older women" among the world's most beautiful. I expected to read names of beautiful women in their seventies like Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren. Instead, I read about "older women, some of whom were in their late 20's and NONE of whom were really older than most women.

  4. RTD's new show:

Hopefully, he doesn't kill any fan faves if his favorite character isn't as popular or well-loved.
