I thought it was pretty funny, nothing gut-busting but good for a laugh.
The part where he starts flexing his chest was hilarious though, too bad the whole bit lasted about 4 minutes too long.

It’s always the same. For some straight people being gay or coming out is not a big issue as they never faced the related problems (due to society that is), so it’s easy for them to joke about the sense of importance they perceive of those moments. The day discrimination against LGBT is a thing of the past this could be interpreted as funny. Or maybe not because it will make no sense then.

Not funny at all. I agree with JS. A serious issue then turned into a paranoid delusion that everyone is against gays and the character can't get sausage in Afghanistan because he's gay.... Just not funny. At all. Nope.
