'Occupy Charleston' Protesters Infiltrate Michele Bachmann Event: VIDEO

Bachmannoccupied

Protesters from "Occupy Charleston" infiltrated and interrupted a Michele Bachmann event today in South Carolina as Bachmann was on stage giving a speech, Patch reports:

Roughly 10 minutes into her speech, in front of roughly 60 supporters and media, the occupy group sitting amongst the crowd stood at their seats at the call from their leader, "Mic check!"

The group then began a call and response message similar to speeches at Occupy rallies throughout the country.

"You capitalize on dividing Americans, claiming people that disagree with you are unpatriotic socialists," they said to Bachmann as local police escorted the candidate from the stage."

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

  2. I agree this is fantastic. I can't believe these scum bag politicians can just go on their merry way without protests. The protests have to be non-violent, but we must all speak up.

  3. Well done.

  4. And so it starts ... politicians you are next!

It's wonderful to see OWS to go up to the faces of all the politicians of both parties who have continued to cater to the 1%. GREAT JOB Charleston!

    Living it and loving it!

  6. They should be arresting the incompetent and incoherent Bachmann.
Anything that shuts her inane ramblings works for me.
    Good job!

  7. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and do something like that, and face the consequences. Such action gives me hope for the future. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Very glad to see that OWS is starting to upgrade to these type of peaceful and disruptive protest during real politicians speeches. It makes this movement so much more meaningful in my opinion. Well done OWS and keep up the great work! Now when's Boehner's next speech? I want to be a mic for that!

  9. America used to work The people had work. The system worked. Hey, EVEN the Congress used to work...(sometimes). God knows, it was far, far, far from perfect - but at least we all had some share in the struggles AND the rewards. But somewhere along the way, we lost our way. And now we seem to have an economy and a political system that works only for the rich. What they call "trickle down economics"... just leaves most of us out in the cold cold rain. We need to get back to what America was, and what it should be, and what it can be. Occupy Wall Street is no longer just a place called Zuccotti Park - Zuccotti Park is everywhere. You can try to pen us in, you can beat us and arrest us, you can mace and tear-gas us , and you can try to "permit" us to death....but you can't kill an idea. You can't keep down a people’s hopes and dreams for a better life.....a life with dignity and freedom....for us... for our kids. More power to Occupy Wall Street, as it spreads to every town and city - because OWS is us, and for us, and by us. It comes up from the grassroots, and it lifts us up in turn. With OWS America has found it’s voice, and that voice demands fairness and justice. This land IS our land! AND WE WANT IT BACK! ...We want our lives back!... We want our future back! ....So why not take some time, find a quiet place somewhere, and consider this: Each of us has only one brief life...one chance...and many choices. It’s time to choose...and to act. If not now...then when? If not you....then who? You DO have the power my friend....and the choice is yours.

  10. Bachman's people and the police keep shouting "Sit down!", as if the OWS protesters will give in to their demands. They do not get it yet. People are fed up with lies and ignorance of history and politicians being beholden to corporations and hate groups, and they are not going to take it anymore. I think the human microphones, and these in particular, are wonderful and brave. They give me faith in America and faith that free speech lives.

  13. I wonder how FOX News and the Tea Party are going to spin this? Especially, when, during the last campaign, the Tea Party was doing the same thing to ALL Democrats/liberals, and of course FOX News had no condemnation of the act and the Tea Party stated it was their freedom of speech.

  14. Yes shout down those with different opinions. How dare they get the right to speak.

  15. And of course it's every bit as laudable when Tea Partiers do the same to Left-leaning politicians - no?

  16. Thanks to Occupy actions Bachmann had one of her highest turnouts in months.

  17. I knew this day would come. I knew we could not go on much longer as a society with these glaring discrepancies in income and wealth. The latest census figures prove me right...there are a LOT of angry people out there, and they ain't drinking tea...or Koolaide for that matter. The people who played by the rules, worked hard, studied harder, are finding out it is for naught, for the whole system is rigged to their favor. Too bad the camera could not have zoomed in on Michelle's face...I think she was about two seconds away from breaking down in tears. I would have liked to have seen that, considering all the tears her and her "husband" have caused through the years. If an event like this brought her to near-tears, she certainly does not have the mental strength to stand up to some international bully. Go ahead, Michelle, cry. It will play well on Faux News.

  18. Love how Michele ALWAYS runs away when things get a little edgy. She simply cannot take anything that is not on her playlist, she always runs away. I find it comical that she has zero clue how bad this always makes her look, even to her own constituents (if she has any left.)

  19. I just might have to visit Charleston now.
