I don't have that big sister reverence of looking up to her. We're very good friends. I just saw her new movie, "W.E." and it's amazing. It's a brilliant piece of work. She is probably the most talented person I have ever met in my life. You don't get to be Madonna in this lifetime without an immense amount of talent and I think when people see this movie, that not only did she write and direct but she produced it as well, they're going to be shocked. She's a meteoric, once-a-generation type talent and she's a pretty phenomenal human being as well."

  1. Since when, Andy, did you start trolling coffee shop comments for stories? Was there any other verification that these incidents actually occurred, or is one annonymous post all that is needed these days? Seems a bit irresponsible...

  2. Mark Wright is a handsome guy... but I think the lead in the Air Force vid has him beat ;-)

  4. Gee Rosie... do you still need to blow smoke up her ass? At least SOMEONE thinks the movie is not only good, but BRILLIANT. Really? BRILLIANT? Again: Smoke? Ass?

  6. I wish the sculpture wouldn’t have come with an explanation because it brings a lot of different things to mind, and I would have liked it to be more open ended.

  7. Have to agree with TJ on his comment. First, how does a single Yelp review in Berkeley end up as news on a blog out of New York?! and second, where is the evidence and/or the actual person submitting the review coming forward. They are obviously a customer so not sure why they don't come forward. The behavior described is deplorable and should be stopped - but an anonymous Yelp review does not constitute fact…rather it is completely irresponsible to post this.

  8. Since when is a single bad review on Yelp a news story, let alone a news story for a NYC-based gay blog???

  9. Banksy can be brilliant, and I think with this piece he is. But I agree with GGGGB-the explanation was not needed.

  13. Thanks for pointing out the Peets-related Yelp post, Andy. I have no idea whether it's true, but, as a longtime customer of the company, I took the liberty of sending them an e-mail so they can look into it. No "do something or else" stuff--I don't even know if it's true--but I made sure they'd see it.

If it's not true (which is quite possible--in my years in management, I've seen many false accusations hurled by disgruntled people), at least they can check it out and make sure. If it is true, I figure they'd want to know. So thanks for sharing that!
