RoadTunisia’s new interior minister, Ali Larayedh, is embroiled in a gay sex video controversy: "On the 18.1.12, a 45 minute long black and white video dating from 1991, showing two men having sex, was posted on YouTube.  The occasional close-up on one of the men’s faces resembles Ali Larayedh, the current interior minister and a member of the ruling Islamist party Ennahda who won last years’ October elections after the first Arab spring rebellion which deposed dictator Ben Ali. The poor quality of the video makes it difficult to determine the video’s authenticity, or whether Larayedh is actually in the video.  The video on the site was quickly removed, although it is still available on file-sharing sites."

"A lot of people immediately jump to images of sex or a pride parade. Well, here's another visual. This is what gay couples look like when we're together as a couple in love. There's really nothing to watch, and I want to leave people with that impression. Psychologically, visual images like that go a lot deeper."

She found a slogan with a deeper message on the Internet: Why is it that as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?"

p.s. The Caster company is disgusting.

son Justin Caster is a notorious closet-case, romping around the country in musical theatre shows, sucking cock on the side, then being an anti-gay Jesus freak when in public. The good news – the theatre community has turned its back on him and he’s now relegated to performing in Christian theatre groups exclusively.

He’s a sad closeted bigot trying to appease one of america’s wealthiest bigoted families. textbook.

As much as I love “The Normal Heart” and [like so many others, particularly Kramer] have long waited for it to be filmed, great material alone does not assure box office success. For with respect to other, VERY different, good work he’s done, it is impossible for me to imagine the verbally-inhibited Ruffalo having the ability to conjure up the huge speeches and visceral, volcanic rage and emotional agony of the central character, “Ned Weeks”—even less so under the guidance of the limp wrist of Ryan Murphy. At best, Ruffalo is a good folk singer and Murphy a good pop musical director while “Heart” is Grand Opera. And neither have the natural “box office appeal” to bring in that group which needs to learn from it even more than young gays [who, overall, will turn out regardless]: straights. Sad.

I was excited about the film version of The Normal Heart – until I read Ryan Murphy was directing…and that Mark Ruffalo was playing Ned Weeks…and that Matt Bomer was playing Felix…and that Julia Roberts was playing Emma. I like all three actors but they are just not right for these parts. I am willing to bet Larry Kramer will not be too pleased with the final Murphy direct version (And you do not want to mess with Larry Kramer). At least a gay man is directing – and two gay men are starring in the film, even if they are in the glass closet. That’s something I guess.

They couldn’t miscast The Normal Heart with better actors?

Glad Jim Parsons is reprising his role, but everyone else . . . ? Meh. And I usually love Mark Ruffalo.

This film needs a more macho director than Ryan Murphy. Soderberg should have done it.

Will there be video of Margaret Court not shaking hands with Martina Navratilova?

That’s an interesting picture of Rev. Court, in which she holds the Bible between her heart and the rest of the world.

Normal Heart finally! Matt Bomer is perfect for Felix as he is a great and under rated actor. He will bring in the younger, straight audience as well as he has legions of straight fans that could care less about his orientation. Julia I could do without, Jim is fine. Rufalo may surprise!

The story about the girl in the Missouri GSA is great. She got approval for from the principal for the GSA t-shirts then a local vendor refused to print them. She rallied other school clubs who’d used that printer in the past to switch to the one who did the GSA shirts. Plus she’s got a great relationship with her mom and a 4.0+GPA.
