Newt Gingrich Rips John King in First Moments of Debate for Asking 'Open Marriage' Question: VIDEO
Newt Gingrich received a standing ovation in the first moments of last night's debate after getting a question from moderator John King about allegations from his ex-wife Marianne that he wanted an "open marriage".
Said Gingrich:
"I think the destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it harder to govern this country harder to attract decent people to run for office. I’m appalled you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that...Every person in here knows personal pain. Every person in here has had someone close to them go through painful things. To take an ex-wife and make it two days before the primary, a significant question in a presidential campaign, is as close to despicable as anything I can imagine.”
Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

The Republicans are so self-destructive it's a joy to watch. This hypocritical egomaniac could actually win SC, while team Obama cheers from the sidelines. Go, Newt! (And, Jason's endorsement must be a big-ass feather in his cap.)

Open marriage? Who did he think he was? A Senator?

Unless Im mistaken wasn't this debate sponsored by NOM? Why wouldnt a question of marriage be first.

I don't know what's more chock full of irony. Mr "Family Values" f'n every women possible while being married or a whore who got him to leave his first wife surprised Newt wanted to f*ck around on her. You've gotta love Republicans though... As long as their politician hates gay people he can be as big of a hypocritical sleaze bag as he wants.

It's a debate, doughboy. The subject was raised to speak about character--you and the audience answered that question brilliantly. Both of you don't care one whit about character or morality. The hubris and hypocrisy of the Right is simply astounding. The Devil is certainly trying hard for his adherents to win.

Why go after newt specifically?? Why not ask the question of the entire candidate field....something like "Since this debate is sponsored by NOM, the first question of the evening will be about the candidates thoughts on the sanctity of marriage and how, as president, each of you would promote a national environment/debate that could help Americans undrestand the importance of stable families.....". And then let the candidates tear into each other on which one is the most moral. The "press" wouldve stayed out of the fray and still newts past wouldve been brought up. Dumb move on the part of CNN

Ohmigod, I hope the eventual GOP nominee is Newt. Talk about shooting fish in a barrel. Obama could go on a six month vacation and still win the election. Please, please, please, let Newt win the next primary!

The Newt led the lynch mob that went for Clinton. This is ironic. Do as I say, don't do as I do.

JASON is not a d*ck. He is a pen*s. A flaccid, cold, inverted, impotent pen*s (I hope this works for you, ENDO).
