Michael Fassbender Laid Bare

M_fassbender

Michael Fassbender, who, ironically, was not cast in Magic Mike, does not have a 'no shirtless scenes' clause in his contract.

Says Fassbender to W: “From the start of my career, I’ve been naked. My first job was a commercial for SAS airlines. In the spot, I wake up in a pink room next to a beautiful blonde girl and get out of bed naked. From that point forward, it’s been in all of my contracts: He must be naked in this film.”

More at W.

As if to prove a point, The Hollywood Reporter also demanded Fassbender strip for his cover shoot this week.

  2. This man is so hot. Magneto and Professor X need to get it on in the next X-Men sequel ;-)

  3. His talents and appeal far exceed the cardboard cut-outs in Magic Mike. One of him is worth more than a hundred Channing Tatums (whose popularity escapes me). He's a fantastic actor who is more than his fantastic looks.

  10. Totally agree with Jan, not only is he insanely attractive, he is a very talented and versatile actor. He is someone deserving of the accolades, far more than a mere pretty face.

  11. There's a spectacular view of The Goods in the opening minutes of "Shame."

In person Fassbender is every bit The Babe, really nice -- and Movie Star Short.

Like Paul Newman he's a little slip of thing.

    And utterly scrumptious.

  12. What am I missing? I just don't find him attractive. I should, really. I am almost disturbed by complete lack of interest.

  13. I hear "Shame" is incredibly homophobic, obnoxiously linking gay sex as a sign of the character's ultimate degradation, then fading to black when the character actually has gay sex, unlike the film does with other sex scenes, as though it's just too much for the audience to cope with.

If this is true, I have no interest in watching the film, nor of supporting anyone associated with it. But I'll readily admit I haven't yet seen the film. Has anyone seen it? Does the movie portray gay sex as decadence and the degradation of a straight character, without any other gay themes or characters to balance that scenario? Or are reports of this false?

  14. @David - my first boyfriend was a little slip of a thing, and I've been crazy about that type ever since.

  15. BobbyJoe: I've seen the movie. I do not think it links gay sex with degradation. It actually leaves somewhat open the question of whether the gay-sex scene represents a genuine urge of Fassbender's character or merely the extent to which his need to get off ultimately overwhelms what is patently his sexual predisposition, i.e., women, specifically slutty women, actual prostitutes, or any situation that doesn't carry with it a whiff of commitment.

  18. I think the movie brilliantly depicts a man who cannot enjoy intimacy with anyone, woman or man. The final "descent" ends with two female prostitutes and not with gay sex. The Gay sex scene takes place in a dark backroom and not a brightly lit apartment but that seems organic to both the story and the situation, The movie was produced by a gay man andI think they wanted it to feel real rather than made up for the sake of political correctness. Let's move on and let gay scenes in movies be what they are and not sanitized politically correct versions of reality.

  22. I'll reverse JOe's comment: he looks amazing in clothes, but naked, he looks very, a little scarily, thin.

  25. He is even more sexy for looking a bit unusual and different from the normal pretty boys. He's wiry instead of hunky and interesting looking and slightly rough around the edges instead of pretty or classically good-looking.
