[African-Americans] don't need civil rights. They don't need them. They have inalienable rights granted by God in the Constitution. I mean, I'm discriminated against all the time. I don't care. It doesn't bother me. [I'm discriminated against] because I'm old. I'm too old to get a job as a game show host. They say, well, the guy's 71 and in five years he'll be 76. 1. benefits of being a gay liberal - being able to date openly and not need bogus anonymous craigslist hookups.

  2. I used to like Chuck Woolery back in the day...who knew he was so ignorant?

  3. Unkosher desires? Can Levin do something about my hankering for pork chops, too?

  4. Chuck Woolery's understanding of discrimination exemplifies the compassionate, reasoned, nuanced position of fellow CPAC attendees. Profoundly ignorant and dismissive. The only reason why you should be discriminated against is your lack of brain-power Chucky-baby- now go find a tanning booth.

  5. You all realize, of course, that there are only three openly gay male "liberals" in the entire Congress--only two after the involuntarily-outed Barney Frank retires at the end of the year......and one of those represents an ultra-left college town.

No "liberal" openly gay male governors or big-city mayors to speak of....and only a tiny handful of state legislators, who generally represent "gay ghettos".

So are we to believe that gay "liberals" are, in fact, just as closeted as gay "conservatives" are?--I mean, given that there are supposedly so many more of them and that they are supposedly so "proud" and supposedly so warmly embraced by the Democratic Party, the number of those that are out sure seems paltry--almost as paltry, in fact, as the number of gay "conservatives".

    Hmmmmm.......

  6. @Rick
What is your mental damage? And "the" "point" "of" "your" "rambling" "nonsensical" "diatribe" "is"? What?

Are you just pissed because you couldn't afford to join the crazies @ CPAC?

  7. @Rick: Oh my god, YOU'RE SO RIGHT! Instead of supporting anti-gay Republicans or closeted Democrats, we gays should wake up and support that viable third party! OH WAIT.

  9. @Dennis I think you know exactly what my point is. If Gay + Conservative=Self-Hating Closet Case.....and Gay + Liberal=Out and Proud--which is, of course, the holy gospel according to some of you.......then where are all the Out and Proud gay liberals?

  10. You might think Obama "blinked" on contraception but he just spent two weeks demonstrating that he is willing to fight to get women, a crucial voting block for any party to win the Presidency, access to basic contraception, got the Republican candidates on video saying a lot of very negative things about women and contraception, and the only people he really pissed off were evangelical Christians (whom polling shows were the people who were really upset over the issue)who weren't going to vote for him anyways.

Come November women (99% of whom have used contraception at some point in their life) will head to the voting booth and remember Obama fought for them, offered a compromise that preserved their access and freedom of religion, and that the Republican candidate was more than happen to treat them like second class citizens not worthy of basic reproductive coverage.

    Winner? - Obama!

  11. @Rick - where are all the closeted liberals trying to pass laws that strip the LGBT community of civil rights?

If there are a lot of closeted gay liberal public officials they aren't the ones pushing Prop 8 or similar attempts to treat the LGBT community as something less then full citizens.

  12. Madonna complaining about MIA giving the middle finger is a bit rich. Madonna herself has made a career out of giving middle fingers and the like. Hypocrite, Madge.

  13. Will Barney Frank have to retire before some nameless morons retire the involuntarily-outed routine? However he came out, it was decades ago (i.e. not significant in 2012). We're a tiny minority, so it stands to reason that our numbers in public politics aren't going to be huge (behind the scenes is another matter), and there is still a homophobic electorate to contend with in many places.

A majority of openly gay people are liberals, and most openly gay politicians are also liberals, no surprises there. The men trolling for men at CPAC are notable only because they are siding with those who are fighting against all of our civil rights. They are shameful, pathetic human beings. A closeted pro-gay liberal may have a sad personal life, but at least he has enough dignity to not harm himself or his lgbt brothers and sisters via his poiltical actions and comrades. That's the obvious difference.

  14. Interesting. Yehuda Levin appears to be the Dr. Mengele of the orthodox crowd, looking for chemical solutions to the homosexual problem much as the Germans did for the Jewish problem.

  15. After Chuck Woolery lost his last game show gig he and wife #4 "found" religion and hit the bible belt circuit as a motivational speakers. They do all the big "fundie" events raking in the dough selling his celebrity. I must admit he has some pretty extreme views even for a wing nut.

  17. Everybody that is paying attention to Rick, here's the deal. Rick knows that what's he's doing with his quotation mark-laden verbal diarrhea - which is just baiting you all to argue with him. He already knows – just as we all do – that liberal gays, closeted or not closeted, don't vote against gay rights and he knows that conservative gays (almost all closeted) make a habit of voting against gay rights all the time. He knows this, there's no reason to argue with him about it. He also probably realizes the absurdity and hypocrisy of trolling around a conservative conference all day long and then trolling Grindr and CL all night. Screw these hypocrites. May they all take a nasty case of the crabs home with them as a souvenir from their hypocrite holiday.

  18. Clearly not the most important news, but... Madonna is officially an elderly person. The way she manipulated the massive american audience with Like A Prayer in the end was so obvious...

  19. Madonna has got a LOT OF NERVE saying M.I.A. giving the middle finger is "a teenager thing to do" when just a few years ago her old azz was flipping off the audiences during her last tour!

God, this old hag is a joke.

  21. I'm sorry to interrupt your deep conversation about to whom should gay souls belong to, but can someone please care to tell me what chemicals the paragraph below is referring to, and where in Europe this is happening???

A bill that would ban homophobic incitement in Greece is shelved

  23. @Rafa: I assume the rabbi is referring to chemical castration, which is sometimes prescribed to child molesters in the US (and I assume that's what the European courts are using it for, too). Off hand, I don't know which drugs are used for this, but the point is to interrupt testosterone (and other androgen) production which results in diminished libido. Basically, the rabbi is (wait for it) saying that gays are the same as pedophiles and should be subject to the same treatment.

  24. "The men trolling for men at CPAC are notable only because they are siding with those who are fighting against all of our civil rights."

So is it OK to "side with" homophobic black Democrats on legislation that benefits them? Should they not be shunned and disowned by the Democratic Party and the white liberals who, instead, overlook their homophobic actions?

And suppose one's own ideological leanings on every issue other than gay rights are, for whatever reason, down-the-line conservative? Is one supposed to just shun politics altogether, even if that is one's passion, because most (but not all) conservatives are against most gay rights legislation (for now)? Or bide one's time until the day that things change enough that homophobia is unacceptable across society? What if they live in a community or a region of the country where supporting gay rights would amount to political suicide?

You see, Ernie, things are not always so simple--and you, yourself, just admitted as such with your explanations ( i.e. excuses) for gay liberal Democrats remaining closeted. If you are going to excuse the latter for remaining in the closet (knowing that by doing so, they are doing some degree of damage and knowing very well that many of them do not need to be for political reasons), then you have no business sitting in judgment of conservative politicians who do what you accuse them of doing.

This is the problem with so many of you--you are not really sympathetic towards the difficulties that other gay men face; you are just judgmental and spiteful towards them, even when it is not NECESSARILY justified.

For what it's worth, I have never heard of any Log Cabin Republican opposing gay rights, nor, for that matter, have I even heard a GOProud rep go that far.

So your self-serving, partisan-motivated dismissal of anyone who is gay and conservative as a "shameful, pathetic human being" just undercuts your credibility, regardless of how much the automatons on the site might cheer it on. And it is socially irresponsible of you, as well, though not surprising.

  25. Yes, Madonna has flipped the bird before, at her own concerts, NOT at the Super Bowl. After Janet's Nipplegate, everyone including Madonna is very aware that you have to be G-Rated at the Super Bowl because of the audience. Madonna's fan base at her concerts is going to be fine with the middle finger; parents allowing their kids to watch the Super Bowl aren't. Madonna is smart enough to understand this, and M.I.A. wasn't, or just didn't care. I don't think M is being hypocritical by being upset with M.I.A. Over this, though frankly, I think parents need to get over it. Kids nowadays give each other the middle finger in kindergarten. Big deal. And I didn't even know she did it until after everyone started bitching about it.
