  1. It's always the biggest haters that want to pray for other people and think everyone else has issues. Santorum is a delusional, ignorant moron.

  2. truth be told, Rick Santorum should be THANKING Dan Savage.

Santorum's infamous "google problem" isn't his REAL Google Problem.

his REAL Google problem is that Google exists. And thus quick links to his plethora of inane, incorrect, bigoted, and deeply prejudicial and unintelligent quotes are available online for all to see, at the click of a button.

truly. Dan Savage didn't do anything bad, really. Frothy? Please.

in what alternate dimension is the frothy definition more embarrassing than having all of your factually-incorrect quotes and evidences of Bigoted Nincompoopery online for all to see?

oh, right. if your head is so far up your own @ss that you don't even realize you're a bigot.

oh well. not my problem, nor Savage's, nor anyone else's.

  3. Hmmmm, well....Dan Savage is right, Frothy Mix is delusional: Who REALLY needs prayer?

  5. How was that man a Bible thumper? Because his family all had Biblical names? I would guess that's a pretty common quality in this country.

  6. I don't know whether Santorum's claim that he would tell Savage he's praying for him really is true or not, but it certainly is the appropriate response for the candidate to give. Not surprising though that Towleroad posters would be annoyed at the response. If Santorum had said "If that left-wing scumbag ever comes near me a surgeon will have to "Occupy" his face" then we would have heard what a terrible Christian Santorum is and how a REAL Christian would have said "I'll pray for you." There is no way "Frothy" could give a response that didn't elicit something nasty from the gay community.

By the way, I heard it written on another site that Santorum claimed he had something of a porn addiction when he was younger. Is this true? I can't imagine Andy or Brandon not posting such an article here. This would explain the Senator's interest in moral renewal and might quell these rumors that he's secretly gay or bisexual - as any straight person interested in LGBT issues is assumed to be.

  7. No one else talks about social issues for a reason, Santorum, you tool.

If you want to run a church, join a seminary. Kindly keep your religion out of my government.

  8. And Savage's reply to Santorum: "Pot meet kettle." Moron (Santorum, that is)

Guess I've forsaken books for too much reading online...I only recognized maybe 2 names in the entire list of Lambda Literary finalists. Sad.

Bloomberg's banning of food donations because they can't assess salt, fat & fiber? Fu*king RIDICULOUS. They're HOMELESS, it's FOOD. Let's get real here!

  9. Driving down the freeway at 70 miles an hour with your kids in the back and working on your lap top is decidedly not funny, at all. Not to mention that this story sounds so very, very contrived, why almost like it was written for an episode of Will & Grace.

  10. Mary, I find your trolling interesting. Santorum sets himself against our interests. Since those conflicting interests revolve around who and how we love, plus the attendant contract that come with formally declaring that love, with with us demanding and he denying, we can safely classify him as an enemy. He is not misguided, for we could sit him down and use science to demonstrate that we aren't homosexual because of Satan's power and he would still claim that what we are and who we love is abnormal and wrong. He would continue to oppress us. He sets himself against us.

For Santorum to imply that Dan Savage is deranged, in anyway related to Dan's sexuality or pro-marriage support, is a grievous insult and disingenuous. It is disingenuous because, no matter how dense Santorum is, there is no way that he couldn't understand why Dan redefined Santorum. In public, Santorum compared our love to the rape of children and animals. TO THE RAPE OF CHILDREN AND TO THE RAPE OF ANIMALS. That can never be okay. Please do not defend Santorum, he is no Christian, he is no kind of man. /soapbox

  11. The gay dad's bigotry was on full display in that piece. He probably didn't realize it: by definition enlightened people like him cannot be bigots.

  12. Don't miss the gay dads and the bible thumper story, it's witty, fun and totally surprising in the best way possible. Sometimes cool people come in disguises.

  15. Sorry, Kiwi, but I'm who I claim to be. Mary is my real first name. And I posted for the first time on Towleroad last September. Usually people who post under multiple aliases are easy to spot because it's hard to disguise one's writing style. As you like to say, try to discern.

    Best wishes.

    Your Towleroad pal,
    Mary
