Rick Santorum Stops Boy from Bowling with Unmanly Pink Ball

Youngman

The Human Rights Campaign criticized Rick Santorum after Reuters reporter Sam Youngman tweeted about an incident that took place at a bowling alley campaign stop in Wisconsin earlier today.

Bowling_santorumTweeted Youngman:

"You're not gonna use the pink ball. We're not gonna let you do that. Not on camera." Santorum to a young fella bowling with him

Said HRC's Fred Sainz in a press release:

“This is another example of Rick Santorum intentionally making ignorant statements that have a real impact on LGBT people. Whether he’s comparing our marriages to inanimate objects, saying our children would be better off with a parent in prison as opposed to two loving same-sex parents, or calling open military service a ‘tragic social experiment;’ he’s proven that he thinks LGBT people are second-class citizens not worthy of dignity or respect. In this case, he’s advancing tired gender norms by implying a boy should be ashamed or embarrassed to use a certain color bowling ball...Kids have enough to worry about. They don’t need Rick Santorum telling them that using a pink bowling ball is a bad thing."

  1. Wouldn't it be nice if there were a candidate who :

    • Supports Single Payer healthcare
    • Supports a secure border
    • Support deportation of all illegal aliens
    • Supports gay rights
    • Opposes mass immigration.
    • Opposes Global Warming Theology
    • Truly believes in the US Constitution, and all of the amendments as written and with original intent.

  2. it would be better, "David Hearne", if guys like you had the balls to put a face to your comments instead of anonymously commenting with various profiles.

alas, your ideal President is as far from reality as you ever growing an actual pair of testicles.

  3. I'm not even going to bother watching the video, but I'd wonder if something like this was scripted.

Theology, David? Global Warming is a science based on evidence, not a theology based on ancient writings and hearsay. At least you support single payer healthcare, which hasn't seemed to destroy the rest of the civilized world.

  4. @ David 2: Religious conservatives are absolutely masterful and fully invested in the power of symbolism. Note how they howl when a flag (symbol of the nation) is burned. Note, also, how they use "proper dress" and coded speech to symbolize personal virtue while spreading notions of hate and oppression. In such a milieu, Santorum's concern for "rescuing" a youngster from use of a dreaded pink item makes a modicum of sense. It also exposes the kinds of people that Santorum deliberately panders to.

  5. @David Hearne It would be nice, but looking at the low voting numbers and all the youthful cynics who "Don't want to touch politics ewww" we are going to be continued to be trampled on by the right who continuously convinces their base to go and vote against their interest for Freedom! and Capitalism!

And to anti-Obama people. Has the President ever discouraged a young boy from choosing what he wants to do? Or would you rather have the "I know what's best for you" candidate win the white house or at the least get the VP spot next to the "I enjoy firing people" guy.

  6. whenever i hear a gay man talk about Global Warming as 'something that doesn't matter' i picture some poor boy whose father loved Glenn Beck and beat his mother when she wouldn't suck hard enough......

  7. Pink has nothing to do with being gay, unless you are afraid you are going to be outed. Me thinks he protest too much and this insecurity is quite the bit of circumstantial evidence that should prompt a look into someone's past.

  10. Mary, it's pretty easy to figure out. He plainly says :...not on camera..." I think that tells you where his head is at.

  11. SRSLY, HRC?? Teenage "gay-looking" boys are being beaten and killed in Iraq, and hanged in Iran, and seriously threatened in Turkey, and all you can think of to do for cheap publicity is get on Santorum's case about the color of a bowling ball?? SRSLY??

  12. Sorry but it was a joke..gays don't own the color pink..its common for men to not wear pink because it's associated with femininity.

  13. Where's the video, I've got to see his face - disgust or delight? Just think, this guy hasn't had sex in months, maybe years, he only has "the sex" to pro-create which is why both he and his wife are so f*cking frustrated all the time.

  14. You are right Jason, gay men do not "own" the color pink but is was forced on us in the concentration camps in the form of a triangle. We have the choice of being ashamed of that past or embracing it and letting it make you stronger. So let's say we are "renting" the color pink and declaring the past association with the color no longer a badge of shame and embarrassment but one of pride and strength.

  16. KIWI- The thought of having some bipolar jackass like you masturbating to my image is insufficient inspiration for violating what little internet privacy I have. If you will do a Zaba search, you will see that I am very much a real person and not one of your personalities expressing himself in lucid interval.

  17. St Teresa - I beg you to do some critical research. Start with the sea level rise in the Maldives and that country's scam of the Dutch people. Look at the actual objective of the meetings in Copenhagen and why people were upset at "the disappointing outcome". Look at the volume of propaganda that is being targeted to you. A movie star saying that a power plant in Alabama is killing polar bears. Do you know who/what kills the most polar bears? Canadians and guests with Canadian permits kill the most polar bears, that's who.

Do not rely on Amy Goodman and Naomi Klein for you news and views on this subject. They are habitual liars who at their heart despise the country which gave their communist grandparents refuge.

  22. Paul of Tilling: I don't think that concentration camps are the first thing that came to anyones mind. Blue is for boys and pink is for girls is much more likely.

Jesus X Christ- the drama queens around this place.
