Obama Campaign Releases Romney's 'Severely Conservative' Hits: VIDEO

Severe_romney

The Obama campaign has released a new video highlighting remarks by Mitt Romney over the course of the Republican primary campaign on a variety of topics from health care to reproductive rights to corporate America.

The Romney campaign responds:

“It’s no surprise with the worst job creation record in modern history and a platform of raising taxes that President Obama would try to distract Americans from the real issues," Romney press secretary Andrea Saul said in a statement. "Unemployment is up, incomes are down and gas prices are through the roof. Mitt Romney is running to get Americans back to work and the country back on track.”

'We Will Not Be Silenced' Say St. Petersburg LGBT Activists: VIDEO

Stpetersburg

Last week, two activists were arrested in St. Petersburg, Russia protesting the city's law banning gay propaganda. Now a group of fellow activists from St. Petersburg are speaking out in a new video.

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

AllOut, which has a petition up against the law, tells us: "One of the arrestees - a straight attorney named Sergey Kondrashov - was hustled off to jail after unfurling a banner that read, 'A dear family friend is a lesbian. My wife and I love and respect her, her way of life is as normal as ours, and her family is as equal as ours too.'"

AllOut plans an upcoming solidarity campaign with Sergey.

NOM to Endorse Mitt Romney

The National Organization for Marriage will endorse Mitt Romney today, Politico reports:

Nom_romneyIn a statement, NOM president Brian Brown will urge conservatives to get behind Romney: "Now is the time for all people who recognize the importance of marriage to come together to support a true champion, Mitt Romney, against an incumbent who has done virtually everything in his power to undermine the institution of marriage."

"Governor Romney was an early signer of NOM’s presidential pledge which represents his commitment to the nation to take specific actions as president to preserve and protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman," Brown's message says ."President Obama has declared our nation’s marriage laws to be unconstitutional and not only has refused to defend them, his administration is actively working to repeal them in the courts. He’s come out against state constitutional amendments defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. And he has appointed leaders of the same-sex ‘marriage’ movement as national co-chairs of his reelection campaign."

Presumably, the organization will do so after they clear up a hacking incident in which a user gained access to NOM's blog, Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Last week, documents were uncovered that showed Romney made donations to NOM (and Proposition 8) through an obscure Alabama PAC.

Police have arrested 15 men 'suspected of homosexuality' in Gambia, AFP reports:

JammehThe men, all Gambians except one Senegalese, were arrested late Monday when police raided a bar in a popular tourist area. Officers had received a tip of people "publicly displaying or promoting homosexual activities," a senior police officer speaking on condition of anonymity told AFP.

"They will be charged accordingly after we have completed our investigations," the police official said.

Homosexuality in Gambia is punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

In 2008, Gambian President Yahya Jammeh told all homosexuals to leave the country or risk being beheaded.
