Madonna Gets Called on Her Cigarette Hypocrisy: VIDEO
In an interview set to air tonight on Rock Center, NBC's Harry Smith asks Madonna how she can scold her daughter Lourdes for smoking cigarettes when she smokes them in her videos.
Says Madonna, in a reply that won't likely be bought by the American Lung Association: "That's just an accessory, Harry. There's a difference."

Hmmm...puff...puff...I Loooove this cigarette, after a delish luncheon, there is nothing better...my 'receptors' appreciate it too. I'm sure that my 2nd hand smoke has drifted out the window and swirled around to infiltrate the nursery of some yuppie/hipster smoking nazi's baby...giving a death blow to the little bastard. If people choose to smoke it is their lives after all.
I've seen actors smoking on movies, also actors killing other actors...should I go do that cuz I saw it on a film?? NO

Um, no BOSIE, it is not just their lives unless they reside in a hermitage, for reaons I have already touched upon in previous posts. Your freedoms end where mine begin. The costs to everyone because of their choice to smoke are well-documented.

She's a hypocrite? Her daughter's at the age of rebellion. You know she sees that. You can tell your kids a thousand times not to do something or else...and they'll still do it. I began smoking at that age (I quit a year ago), and my parents really laid into me about it. But I thought I knew better and did it anyway.
But the US Government is more hypocritical than any pop star. They allow these to be marketed toward kids (indirectly) and warn about cancer and death, etc. And yet they still make them perfectly legal... And any parent would be pissed if their kid was smoking; even parents that smoke. I think it's safe to say Madonna laid into her daughter big-time about this, especially since her own mother died of cancer. As for whether Madonna's use of a cigarette in a video is going to influence kids, not likely...her fan-base is over the age of being influenced by such things.

Mrs. Do as I say, Not as I do should look at her own life before judging her daughter. OK, there's that S.E.X. book, being rebellious as a kid, saying she doesn't drink yet in her youth she had been seen with a glass of wine, and the list goes on ...
Perhaps Lourdes should emulate her mama and drop out of school and move to New York for a singing career. Oh wait! They live in NY. THEN she should move to Hollywood and get W I L D!
