Gay-Hating Preachers Silenced by Gaga Flash Mob at Phoenix Pride: VIDEO
Phoenix Pride took place over the weekend and the gay-hating religious folk were out in force.
Videographer Mike Skiff writes:
At Phoenix Pride 2012, a group of bigoted preachers who attend LGBT pride celebrations in many states, heckled folks leaving the pride parade. One hurled particularly vile, un-Christian insults at the crowd, causing emotions to run high. Then a flash mob, led by Queen B, demonstrated what true Christian love was about by performing "Born This Way" to the cheers of the crowd - and silencing the hate speech of the preachers.
Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

@ Stuffed Animal: What Gigi said. Do you think the haters would be any less hateful if the Pride revelers were wearing suits and ties, sugar?
You don't even have the courage to use your real name. You're a coward who insults people under fake names. I'd say a man who nicknamed himself "Stuffed Animal" qualifies as camp theater just like pink speedos or a sailor hat, sugar.

DOMINO S, ever clicked Stuffy's name and gone to his blog? it's worth noting that the nutbag thinks all non-Christians go to Hell when they die.
he's certifiably insane.

its interesting how the "religious" protesters come out to promote hate, while us vile immoral gays were out in force to promote love and acceptance. Who are the good christians?? (I'm an aetheist btw) How do these people sleep at night?

Hey Kids! I was a dancer in the Phoenix Flash Mob. I can tell you that I didn't expect such a small group of protestors to make much of an impact, but there are many people there for the first time each year who are completely taken off guard by their hate. Being there made me understand why some could not just ignore their words. I will also say that there was a small group of Christian women representing a message of love and acceptance just in front of this crowd, though they were not nearly as loud or noticeable. It's important to acknowledge that these extremists do not represent the whole of the Christian faith. I know the media makes Phoenix seem ridiculous, but this is a beautiful city full of equally beautiful, forward-thinking, intelligent and artistic individuals. Remember, to love yourselves and each other. xo

Also, the protestors indeed were quiet during the flash mob and did pack up and leave shortly afterward.

ROCK ON, TRACY! we appreciate :D

I wonder how so-called Christians would like a group of gay people shouting judgmental hate speech at them during a Church social or an Easter parade? I'll bet they wouldn't.

I don't think you can call it a flash mob when it doesn't happen instantaneously, i.e. in a flash.

not that we should sink to their level. I just don't understand how "christians" can stand there and say vicious things like that. I really hope it comes back to bite em on the ass when St. Peter starts checking off the bad deeds.

Alan -- If you are incapable of thinking that there's more than one important thing going on in the world at any given time, that's a really big bummer. Please don't paint everyone else with your lack of imagination, though. Most of us think that we can be deeply concerned about the attrocious goings-on overseas while STILL believing we deserve to live as equal citizen here in the US.
Furthermore, there's horrible things happening all over the world at the same time. If we were to decide that the existence of a particular problem meant that we can do nothing about anything until that problem (which we may or may not have any ability to affect) is resolved, nothing would ever get done. The answer to any sort of activism can't be "don't matter 'cause Darfur". All those of us who care about affecting change do it in the ways we feel we will be most personally effective. Once you've solved the problems in Uganda, by all means come back and tell the rest of us what weak activists we are. Until then, maybe go out and help those trying to bring joy and equality in the ways they can.

I've also got to laugh at how everytime a post like this goes up on towelroad, there's one Debbie Downer who wants to say that the gay people portrayed in the clip/video/whatever it is are too flamboyant or what not. Just gotta chuckle at the idea of people coming onto a site for gay news and complaining about how it's too gay...

I love it!!!! Every comment board has to have a Debbie Downer - I find them as entertaining as the hateful Christofascists. Long live Teh Gay !!!! ;O)

It's all very amusing, but still, it's not nice to taunt the mentally ill.
(Just a simple, quietly mouthed, "f*ck you" would be OK though. You do want to be the classy one in such a confrontation!)

Christianity with hate, the Devil laughs and Jesus cries. I'm not a believer and even I know that's all fu*ked-up

STAND UP just like these courageous souls were doing. ENOUGH with the 'nice guy' act! That doesn't get you anywhere. Don't be intimidated. Stand strong and forceful! The weak never survive in this survival of the fittest world.
And to the apologists, keep riding on the back of that bus and enjoying it, the rest oif us have self respect.

what would happen if someone just pepper sprayed the protesters? or opened fire on them? I mean, maybe we need to have a couple of martyrs for the cause...

The organizers of our October Out celebration and our June Pride parade and festivities here in Philly have after trying many different tactics come to realize that ignoring the bible believing bigots is the most effective tactic. They love to get gay people worked up in hate filled arguments. When ignored their appearences at the events are greatly diminished. It may be easier to ignor them here in Philly because we get about 30,000 people at each event. So they are not as obvious a disturbance as they might be at smaller gatherings.

As a witness to these ''christian'' preachers on Saturday in Phoenix, I can say that walking past this group from the parade into the park was bothersome. I have been to many events over the years, but I have never heard such hateful commentary. They were spouting vulgar statements about some percieved gay sex acts, stooping low enough to insinuate harm to those of us walking by. It bothered me, it bothered my friends, we watched for a moment then passed them by, thinking why give them the satisfaction. I have to say it stayed on my mind for the rest of the weekend, and I regretted not being able to silence them. I am glad that someone took the opportunity to do so with a positive message from an lgbt ally such as Lady GaGa.... It was the pride theme after all....

Any gay man or lesbian woman should be shamed to even talk about a god - these are modern times people.
Glad to be an Atheist and far from any of this ignorant debate.

Excuse me, but isn't "gluttony" a sin? That fat f&@k! Has allot of nerve.
Also, these are all tghe ex-tweakers who found this so-called god after they lost everything. They make the perfect worshippers for such an idiotic concept!
Hey freaks: I hope you god will forgive you for all of your early life of "wrong-doing" - and also, you are the one's on your knees...

@Alan Wow. That's a pretty classic derail, there. So, just like feminists shouldn't care about achieving equal pay because there are women in Saudi Arabia who can't drive, until all gay people everywhere are free from oppression, no gay people here are allowed to complain?
Hang on, lemme go get my BINGO card -- I'm sure you've got more classic idiocy to come.
