Rick Santorum Suspends Presidential Campaign: VIDEO

Santorum

Saying "we are not done fighting," Rick Santorum told reporters "this presidential race is over for me and we will suspend campaign effective today." Santorum did not endorse Mitt Romney.

Romney released a statement following the announcement: "Senator Santorum is an able and worthy competitor, and I congratulate him on the campaign he ran. He has proven himself to be an important voice in our party and in the nation. We both recognize that what is most important is putting the failures of the last three years behind us and setting America back on the path to prosperity."

  4. Goodbye Frothy! Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out (though I'm sure at one point some rentboy will).

  5. I have absolutely no intention of watching a video of Rick Santorum pulling out. Talk about a b*ner-killer!

  7. Damn. I was kind of hoping he'd stick around a little longer and keep fighting with Romney.

  10. This man has NO shame! He's using his sick daughter to "gracefully" bow out of the campaign. He knows he will suffer a huge embarrassment by losing his home state (the polls do NOT look good for him) and he's using Bella as an excuse. What an absolutely disgusting individual.

On a precious side note, the still picture above of the Santorum family is almost as priceless as the still of the family when his home state tossed his ass out of the senate. Karen is definitely having another prozac moment! And,the oldest psycho son looks like he's about three seconds away from snapping! They're all delusional enough to really think they would be living in the White House soon. LOL!!!

  11. Bye by baby bye by. With any luck this crack-pot will suffer the same fate as Antoni Gaudi. (Sooner, rather than later.)

  12. Now he can have his sweater vests made back in China again!

  13. I was really hoping he would stay into the end, forcing Romney to move as far to the right as possible and to keep reminding people how out of step with the 21st century a large part of the GOP is.
I suppose it is too much to hope for that Romney would ask Frothy to be his VP running mate. Even Romney isnt that stupid but we can hope.
Even if he is not on the ticket Santorum won't be able to keep his mouth shut on social issues I just hope the press keep reporting on his stupidities.

  14. Dare I predict: last minute race by the Grizzly Mom?

  15. I love how they "suspend" their campaigns. That means they can still raise funds and spend the money any way they want to and it's all legal.

  16. Looking ahead four years, Santorum is now in the 'first runner-up" slot just as Romney was in 2008.

I shudder that we may not have heard the last of him.

and PS: How is he making a living right now?

  17. Jack M: We don't need to thank Dan Savage. His vulgar little prank played no part in Santorum's defeat. We in Pennsylvania always knew the Rick's pre-Vatican II ultra Catholic conservatism would lead to his defeat.Rick was his own worst enemy. He dropped out because the polls indicate that he was about to loose Pennsylvania again.

  18. Perhaps someone finally told him he will not win Obama.
BUT then, as much as I dislike RS, her little daughter is in a hospital, maybe he understood what is the most important thing in his life.

  19. @Oliver , I was thinking more like Isadora Duncan.

  20. So Romney thinks Ricky Santorum is an important voice in the nation? He will be when he gives up the charade and lets Dan Savage make a man out of him. And it will be a vast improvement when that happens.

  21. Jeez, Ricky, did that take long enough or what? Sick daughter? kitchen table? Good Friday? Dad? How about a little economy of language? Just tell us about "Chuck in the pick-up truck", and get lost.

  22. Pulling out early = birth control
    Birth control = sin
    Rick santorum = sinner

  23. OMG! It DOES get better!

  24. Buh-bye, Icky Ricky. Go back under that rock you crawled out from...you know, the one they threw at you in Pennsylvania.

  25. What determines them pulling out? Don't have money to continue? Scores aren't high enough? Money shouldn't really be a factor. This is what keeps America with stupid choices all the time. Only the rich can run. Just wondering what really happens, because I'd think they all have huge egos that they'd keep going as long as possible
