I’m confused – you know that her song “212” is homophobic right?

Banks’ 212 is not homophobic. It’s braggadocio. All rap is braggadocio. Every rap song has the same content- I’m awesome and you aren’t. Rap is about the form. It is about linguistic prowess, juxtaposing sounds, not about the content. Besides, she loves her male gays and she herself is bi. If you don’t understand how music works, please don’t comment on it.

I really liked where “212” was going until “You’re gay to get discovered in my two-one-deuce, cock a licking in the water by the blue bayou, caught the warm goo in your doo rag too, son?”
I don’t know how you can interpret that as anything but homophobic. If these lyrics were a text message, it would read “lol faggot”. Her being bisexual doesn’t make that cool.
