Rick Santorum Urges Romney to Use 'Potent Weapon' of Gay Marriage Against Obama: VIDEO

In an interview with CNN affiliate KARK in Arkansas, Rick Santorum urged Mitt Romney to talk up his anti-gay values:

"This is a very potent weapon, if you will, for Governor Romney if he’s willing to step up and take advantage of a president who is very much out of touch with the values of America...Hopefully Governor Romney will continue to stand tall for his position on this issue and understanding how detrimental it would be for society for it to have this changed."

  1. STEVENELLIOT

Well that's the thing. Why is the media and social conservatives so OBSESSED with gay marriage?

  2. "Out of touch"? Frothy, have you looked in a mirror lately? You kinda lost, dincha? 'Cause people really, really don't like you.

  3. Well if there's any comfort in this it reminds me of why he will never be President. Because if he wants to use "us" as weapons, Karma will make sure it comes back to him. And this country will never hate us enough to elect him.

  4. @Roger. It's not CNN, it's the weather girl from the Little Rock local news.

  5. WTF is up with a country that supposedly prides itself on liberty and justice and equality, yet allows people like Santorum to ruin the lives of its citizens? Ugh. This and the North Carolina and Virginia news is a pile of garbage. We should protest, make some noise, anything, argh it's so frustrating!

  6. Two plays every gay person wants to see come to Off-Broadway:

"Frothy and the Stranger: an evening with Rick Santorum and Dan Savage" (and what an evening it would be!)

"NOM-inal values: the rise and fall of Maggie Gallagher"

to be followed up by a book purchase at Barnes and Nobles of

"Your Towle or Mine? How Gays, Lesbian, (and sometimes their opponents) interact on the world's most interesting gay website"

  7. Yes, talk about SSM and forget the economy and all that other stuff. Because the last thing you want, Mitt, is to show the voters that Obama is a better option than you.

Rickyboy seems to have understood this. Not that it helped him much...

  8. I think Santorum's analysis is correct. Same sex marriage can be a "potent weapon" for Romney, especially in the swing states where the election will be very close. Don't underestimate the stupidity of many voters. Many working class voters have gone to the polls in past elections and voted against their own best interests because they were swayed by wedge issues.

  9. Mr Santorum must not have received the memo, leaked over the weekend. Guess when your campaign fails you get removed from the meaningful mailing lists.

  10. The terrible thing about all those voters in those states that have passed state constitutional amendments is they have no idea that they have instructed their state governments to violate the Constitution of the United States. The states with those provisions in their constitutions and their taxpayers are on the hook for millions of dollars in court costs for defending those constitutional changes against the 14th amendment to the Constitution of the United States. How difficult would it have been for those voters to have simply read the 14th amendment to the Constitution of the United States and prevented this entire situation?
