14-Year-Old Radio Host Condemns 'Sickening, Homosexual 'Perversion', Says Obama is Making Kids Gay: VIDEO

Cowger

Caiden Cowger, a teen talk show host in West Virginia who has obviously paid a lot of attention to Bryan Fischer is getting attention for a new video in which he rants against the "perversion" of homosexuality and says that Obama is encouraging kids to decide to be gay.

Says Cowger:

"I see younger people that is turning out to be homosexuals...we've got about 30 teenagers in this county that I'm at that are homosexuals and it is sickening...I knew these teenagers when they were in elementary school...they were not homosexuals. They just decided all of a sudden - I think I'm going to be gay. Why they are becoming homosexuals is because they are being encouraged...President Obama. It's all right, it's okay you were born that way."

The New Civil Rights Movement notes that Cowger has already been noticed by a few conservative Republicans:

Cowger has written a book, Being A Young Conservative, which has notes of support from Rudy Giuliani and Glenn Beck’s chief of staff. Cowger’s radio show is on Facebook, and he has a website for his radio show. Cowger has become so famous he has interviewed Herman Cain, and West Virginia candidate for the U.S. Senate John Raise, adding that he “spoke at the Annual Harrison County Lincoln Day Dinner. He spoke following Senate Candidate John Raese, with Candidate for Governor Bill Maloney, and Candidate for Congress David McKinley.”

CNN Poll Shows Massive Shift in Acceptance, Understanding of Gay People

CNN today released the results of a new poll which reveals a sharp trend in pro-gay American attitudes:

Prop8A CNN/ORC International survey released Wednesday also indicates that the number of Americans who say they have a close friend or family member who is gay has jumped from 49% in 2010 to 60% today, the first time in CNN polling that a majority of Americans have said that. In the 1990s, most Americans said they did not know anyone close to them who was gay.

"Attitudes toward sexual orientation have also changed over that same time period," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "In 1998, a majority believed that someone who is gay or lesbian could change their sexual orientation if they choose to do so. Today, only a third feel that way, and the number who say that gays and lesbians cannot change their orientation is almost six in ten. Those shifts probably explain the growing acceptance of same-sex marriage."

According to the survey, 54% now say that marriages between gay and lesbian couples should be recognized as valid by law, with 42% opposed. Sentiment is strong on both sides of the debate, with more than three-quarters of supporters and opponents of same-sex marriage saying that they feel strongly about that issue.

The poll also indicates strong partisan and generational divides, along the lines of what you would expect.

Miss Pennsylvania USA Sheena Monnin Quits, Citing Rigged Pageant, Policy on Transgender Contestants: VIDEO

The reigning Miss Pennsylvania USA Sheena Monnin quit the organization this week over its acceptance of transgender contestants but then changed her excuse to charge the pageant with being rigged, E! Online reports:

MonninIn a transcript of the email said to be from Mommim and provided by the Miss Universe Organization, the 27-year-old from Cranberry, Penn., wrote that she refused to be "part of a pageant system that has so far and so completely removed itself from its foundational principles as to allow and support natural born males to compete in it. This goes against ever moral fiber of my being. I believe in integrity, high moral character, and fair play, none of which are part of this system any longer."

Monnin claims on Facebook that she saw a list with the top 5 contestants before the pageant.

The Miss USA Pageant released a statement:

"The Miss Universe Organization can confirm the resignation of the Pennsylvania title holder after she did not place in the Top 16 at the Miss USA pageant," the pageant purveyor said in a statement to E! News.

"In an email to state pageant organizers, she cited the Miss Universe Organization's policy regarding transgendered contestants, implemented two months ago, as the reason for her resignation. Today she has changed her story by publicly making false accusations claiming that the pageant was fixed, however the contestant she privately sourced as her reference has vehemently refuted her most recent claim. We are disappointed that she would attempt to steal the spotlight from Olivia Culpo of Rhode Island on her well-deserved Miss USA win."

On the Today Show, Donald Trump attacked Monnin and said he would sue her.

UPDATE: GLAAD and the National Center for Transgender Equality have responded to Monnin's resignation.

Said Mara Keisling, President of National Center for Transgender Equality: "As a trans person and a Pennsylvanian, I'm disappointed that the now former Miss Pennsylvania feels such bigotry toward trans people. She says she is upset about a lack of honesty and fair play in the contest, but the real lack of honesty may be her unwillingness to publicly express her apparent transphobia. There is also a real need for allowing honestly by trans women who are being their true selves.”

Said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick: “Sheena Monnin apparently decided to quit, rather than be aligned with an organization that treats all women as women. As more and more Americans get to know transgender people in their communities, in the workplace, and through the media, they are discovering the humanity that society has refused to acknowledge for so long. Monnin is out of touch with fair-minded Americans who believe that trans men and women are worthy of the same dignity, respect, and opportunity as all other men and women."

Government Officials to Join Gay Pride Parade in Croatia As Nationalist Groups Threaten Violence Again

Croatia

More than 100 were arrested last year in Split, Croatia after nationalists and right-wing groups attacked marchers in a Gay Pride parade. They are threatening to do so again this year, Reuters reports:

MilanovicSeveral nationalist and war veteran groups have issued warnings against this year's June 9 march in Split, calling it a "shameful provocation by sick people to which we will respond".

In an unprecedented move for the Balkans, where gay rights are largely ignored and Pride marches are few and far between, the liberal centre-left cabinet openly approved of the event. Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic (pictured) called on Split residents to show tolerance and accept "standard democratic practice of Western Europe".

"The eyes of the European Union will be focused on Split on Saturday ... The gay population does not threaten anyone and we just have to accept them," Milanovic told Media Servis, a local electronic news provider...

Croatia is set to join the European Union next year and some government ministers who see the event as a test of democracy say they will join the gay marchers  despite the threat of violence:

...Split Mayor Zeljko Kerum said he would not take part in the Pride, an event he said was disapproved by most Split residents. Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic, who will join the march together with Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic, a native of Split, and three other cabinet ministers, said violence might even complicate Croatia's progress towards EU membership.

"This is a time when we are laying the foundations for the exhaustive (EU) monitoring report in October, on the basis of which many member countries will ratify our accession treaty," she told a news conference on Tuesday.
