'Astonishing X-Men' Artist Mike Perkins Selling Gay Wedding Art On eBay

Comic fans celebrating the recent marriage of gay X-Man Northstar and his boyfriend may be interested to know that Mike Perkins, the artist who drew the historic edition of Astonishing X-Men, is currently auctioning pages from that issue over at eBay.

There are multiple pages available, but as Bleeding Cool points out, the one seen above is getting the most bids. Current highest bid: $284. What a bargain.

  1. Obama and Romney are neck and neck today in the polls. If Romney wins, these will really be collectors items. Maybe should see what the Supremes do to Obamacare tomorrow before you invest.

  2. I suppose that this question will serve as further evidence of me not being a "good gay".....but can someone please explain what the deal is with gay men and comic books???????

I don't get it, any more than I get diva-worship or lots of other things.....

    Have at it.....

  3. But just so you all know, it's hard for gay guys like me to understand why other gay men like certain things. The only experience I have with other gay males are from making anonymous comments on websites. I've never actually met or interacted with any, because if I did then I'd get the hose again. So I just keep rubbing the lotion on my skin.

It's hard to understand other gay men when you've never set foot outside the closet.

Also, i enjoy eating scrambled eggs while looking at porn.

  5. As far as buying/saving on eBay goes:

If you see an item that you want listed in auction format, send the seller a message asking if they will accept $x to end the auction early and sell the item to you. If that doesn’t work, use a sniping service such as to bid for you. It’ll bid in the last few seconds, helping to save $ and avoid shill bidding.

If there is a particular item that you want that is relatively rare on eBay or goes fast when one is listed, use to set up a saved eBay search for it. You’d get an e-mail whenever a match is listed. You can use the price, category, exclude word, etc. filters to narrow down the results that you get in the e-mails. Excellent for “Buy It Now”s priced right.

If the item that you’re looking for is difficult to spell, try a misspelling search site like to find some deals with items that have main keywords misspelled in the title. Other interested buyers may never see them.

  6. @Rick. Gay men can be boys, too.

  7. I was disappointed in the art in this issue. For me, bad or sub-par art can really distract from a story. I'm not saying I could do anything CLOSE to this level of quality, but I can think of at least 20 other artists I would have liked to see handle this event. Northstar looks to be about 57 years old in most of the panels.

  8. I'm surprised they didn't have Phil Jimenez draw the issue. Granted Mike Perkins is the regular artist. I don't care much for his art, though the action parts of the issue were drawn a lot better. The Wedding stuff looked sloppy and awkward.

Congrats Northstar, too bad we never got to see you be the bad boy we all know you really are.
