Wow, Gary, that video was scary.

Anyone else getting a Boy Band vibe? After seeing Rock of Ages, I can’t really take the whole boy band thing seriously – not that there was anything serious about it to begin with.

This guy was a doll, a lovely face, stylish and original moves all his own, great tempo, good voice and a joyful vibe. So where was the kiss?

    That was wonderful.
Oh, and all of you here bitching, pissing and moaning, please do post your work so we can see how very much better you would do it.
Personally – I think this was one of the best videos I have seen this year, regardless of topic.

innocently audacious. the absence of highly refined professional moves or vocal tricks were the soul of its charm. the clothing would have been daring 50 years ago, i know this because i dressed exactly like that back then and got eyerolls sneers. it bothered me back then about as much as such disapproval does now. not a whit.

  8. Travis says

Wow.. bunch of bitter, judgmental comments being posted about this video. The video made me smile and made me happy, when has your bitterness and judgements made someone happy? When has it changed the world for the better, even just a little?

  9. Bo says

Too goddamned cute! But what’s the story? I want more information. Don’t just show the video, tell us about him. Anyone know if there is any more information about him or why he wrote this song somewhere?

This talented mofo is gonna get picked up by a label with skills like this. It looks like he’s doing this entirely on his own at this point. If that’s the case, daaaammn! It doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes and can move like a brother!

  10. Dback says

Uffda’s right: I wanted to see the kiss at the end! (Those of you who’ve seen the gay Scandinavian short a from a couple years ago with the young man singing–and eventually involving his entire village–about his kiss from a bald man will understand.)

What I love love LOVE about this video and a handful of other out gay artists–especially Ricky Martin and Bobby Joe Valentine–is the enthusiasm and joy they have for performing, and how being out gay men fires them up creatively and makes watching them and experiencing their music that much more enjoyable. Someone with the voice of Elvis or Sinatra or James Brown or Johnny Cash is a rare and wonderful thing, but someone who almost glows with joy while performing is even rarer. So mad props to Jay, Ricky, Bobby Joe, and other gay singer-songwriters filling our world with happiness.

His name is Jay Christianson. He and his husband, Daniel, moved to Minneapolis from Salt Lake City a few years ago. He’s a sweetheart. And I wish him all the success and the world.

WOW Gary thanks for that video of The Joans, i never heard of them but that was awesome and will have to check out more of them.
While i’m sure this Jay is a very nice guy that song was sickly sweet, enough to give you diabetes.

Fantastic, beautiful and sincere.Made my WEEK! Extremely catchy…I’ve listened to it afew times and come back for a repeat.

  14. YoyeahYo says

Cute guy, nice video, but his voice sounds like belonging to a castrato. And not in a flattering way.

  15. UFFDA says

This is the guy you fell in love with at school…who wasn’t gay. Years later you found out that he was and he became your reward for having become yourself as well. You married him.

    What a charming, swoon-worthy fellow… dancer… singer… performer.

  16. Mitch says

Great upbeat song and video! Wonderful production. Had to watch it a couple of times!

I also admire anyone who can travel light…one small duffel bag! lol

Good luck, Jay! I hope we see more!
