One Direction's Louis Tomlinson: Harry Styles and I are 'Best Friends', Not a Gay Couple

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson says that fan fantasies that he and bandmate Harry Styles are an item are disruptive.

Says Tomlinson in an interview with Storyboard:

"This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually hard to deal with in a relationship. Me and Harry are best friends, people look into our every move—it is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public. We want to joke around, but there seems to be a different rumor every time we do anything. I act the same way with Harry as I do [with] any of the other boys and my childhood friend Stan."

  1. first off, i don't care at all for one direction.

having said that, i know that harry kid has been gettin loads of the gay rumours heaped upon him.

i recently saw a youtube video that a "fan" compiled of images and film of louis and harry together.

if you didn't know, you'd think they were a couple, but personally, i think it's god damned refreshing to see guys who genuinely adore each other's friendship and aren't afraid to touch each other!

i think their relationship is wonderful and at the end of the day, perhaps their freedom from social boundaries will show and inspire their legions of fans that love is love, no matter what form it takes, and it's okay to SHOW it!

    kudos to the lads.

    but again....not a fan.

  2. C'mon lads, this is nothing more than PR content for the post-Glee generation. These boys' onstage flirting antics are as carefully choreographed as is the rest of their show.

New Direction, and indeed any of these boybands (sic) is not a band per se, but rather a traveling theatre product carefully cast and scripted. The creative team who assembled and manages this one is absolutely peerless at keeping their boys front and centre in the press spotlight.

  4. He really shouldn't be taking this so seriously. Fans will ship relationships everywhere whether they're friendly together or not. In Harry Potter, I don't remember Harry and Draco being sweet to one another and how many slashy fan fictions are there between them online? So long as he's a public figure, people will be pairing him with someone, boy or girl, whether it makes sense or not. He should just be flattered that people care enough about him to write stories about him however crazy the stories may be.

  5. I don't see it happening, on the other hand, that kid Styles and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw do have some weird thing going on.

  6. Pablo: You hate effeminate men because they are the ones that are always identified as gay. Actually your straight routine is more of an act. If you can't accept fems that you can't accept "gay" It a part of our history and culture. Acting straight puts stress on you, because in reality you are the artificial one. You hate the fem because he represents what "everyone hates" as you say. There is no emotional or mental "damage" Fems are part of our community and we accept all.

  7. I believe that it was Rick that said the negative coment about effeminate men, not Pablo. Pablo was more supportive. Good post though.

  8. If anyone actually believes these very words came out of Louis Tomlinson's mouth you are all deserving of the title 'twit'. This is pure and simple PR damage control because their people felt it necessary to address the huge Tumblr love. We can't have boylove in a world of rednecks and $$$$ sponsorships now can we!
