I am so impressed by skinny jeans father! And consider the number of black households where a young man that age wouldn't even have a father figure. Over 50 percent? KUDOS guy. Your son is going to have a good future and probably his own home and family too.

GOOD GOD MARKUS, shame on you.
That dad video (SINCE NOBODY HAS COMMENTED ON IT AT ALL YET) is a bit disturbing, I know hes just trying to be funny and fatherly but it sounds like yelling and sets off my stress ticker that I only use for families and the pope. Plus the whole time I was like "Those jeans look fine!"

I knew there'd be those claiming he was abusive. The 15 year old is LAUGHING. I guarantee you that teen loves his dad.

Oh FENROX - you whiny liberal... the jeans were under his ASS.
And, might I ass...a nice ass.

I am so tired of young men walking around with their underwear showing. It is NOT fashionable. No one in New York, London or Amsterdam dresses like that. Don't they realize that this "homage" to people in jail is false? Guys in jail who walk around like that do so because they're looking for anal sex!
I see them all the time and either refer to them as clowns, brain surgeons or rocket scientists! Pull your pants up! You look ridiculous!
Posted by: Pierce_mn | Jul 18, 2012 6:07:49 PM
The father seemed more to have an issue with the pants being tight "girl pants" than anything else. Seems homophobic, and that's the truth. He'd probably be fine with his son's pants baggy and hanging off his knees.

PIerce_MN they don't dress like that in prisons looking for anal sex. that is a false internet rumor.
Posted by: noooo | Jul 18, 2012 6:32:49 PM
why don't you like them with their pants down? i see a man and he's showing me his ass, i'm not gonna complain. lol
Posted by: brian | Jul 18, 2012 6:33:12 PM
Abuse is abuse, no matter what the intent. Dad needs to learn how to make his point without humiliating the boy.
He did everything short of telling the boy he's dressing like a faggot.

I'm split on whether the skinny post is even real. Who was filming it, and why? Why is the father never shown? Also, those aren't really skinny jeans, they're skintight, and look absurd with his underwear sticking out so much.
Also, if his father were abusive, I doubt he'd be laughing.

About the sagging pants rumor: http://www.snopes.com/risque/homosex/sagging.asp

First, I think the father was abusive since it's not clear, to me, that it was the teenager laughing; there seemed to be others present it was humiliating to the young man.
Second, on another video, I wonder why on earth Andy would post something denouncing the President's support of same-sex marriage. That "Stoplight" vid. does nothing more than express right-wing fear-mongering and completely misses the point that Obama was expressing a personal, not a legal, opinion. And, even if he had expressed a legal opinion, it would be completely ineffective until an actual law were passed. Until then, Obama's opinion has no bearing on any church activity and any laws to spring from it would quickly be shown unconstitutional anyway.

Yelling like that and making the kid pose for people in humiliation is ABSOLUTELY abuse. NOT COOL.
Posted by: R | Jul 18, 2012 9:29:45 PM
I agree that the skinny jeans video was abuse. The kid was NOT laughing about his dad's comments, and the language was aimed at humiliation.

Oh you crybaby liberals with your hankies...that video was hilarious, the father was hilarious, the son was laughing, the daughter was laughing, and so was I.

It was not abuse! That kid deserved what he got, because that look is just stupid. Just because a parent yells at a child for what they are wearing, everybody has to get all sensitive about it. Grow up and deal with it - that's what parents are supposed to do, tell their kids when they are doing something dumb.

I agree, UFFDA. Some would need their smelling salts to make it through an episode of "Good Times" around here. Father James used to take off his belt when JJ and Michael back-sassed him.

That anti marriage equality video is just about the stupidest thing I've seen yet on the subject - and so poorly acted, too.

I don't think the skinny pants thing is abuse. Give me a break. The kid is laughing. And he does look ridiculous. The rule of thumb is this: IF you have to question whether it is abuse or not, it is NOT abuse. Real abuse is far more vile and blatant.
