In The Life Media recently turned their cameras on Edie Windsor, the 83-year old lesbian widow currently petitioning the Supreme Court to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, and the 5-minute video they've produced, viewers get an intimate look at Windsor's 43-year relationship with Thea Spire, their 2008 marriage and the legal and financial repercussions inflicted upon Windsor after Spire died. It's inspiring, heartbreaking and illuminating all at once.

Amazing. Imagine taking on this challenge while grieving over the loss of the love of her life. Wonderful story, wonderful couple.

There are no words that describe how i feel about this woman. Sheer bravery in the face of a devastating loss and a system that made her a second class citizen that cannot benefit they way hetero couples can. Yet she goes on!

I actually have nothing valuable to add; I would just like to echo the previous posts. Edie Windsor is an inspirational, brave, beautiful woman and I have an immeasurable amount of respect and gratitude for her and I am saddened by the loss of Thea Spire.
