Illinois Catholic Bishop Warns Voting Democratic Supports 'Intrinsic Evil' Because of Abortion, Gay Marriage: VIDEO

Paprocki

Bishop Thomas John Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois isn't instructing you "for whom you should vote" but warns that voting Democratic is supporting "intrinsic evil" and putting your soul at risk, Right Wing Watch reports.

Says Paprocki in a video:

Certainly there are "pro-choice" Republicans who support abortion rights and "Log Cabin Republicans" who promote same-sex marriage, and they are equally as wrong as their Democratic counterparts. But these positions do not have the official support of their party.

Again, I am not telling you which party or which candidates to vote for or against, but I am saying that you need to think and pray very carefully about your vote, because a vote for a candidate who promotes actions or behaviors that are intrinsically evil and gravely sinful makes you morally complicit and places the eternal salvation of your own soul in serious jeopardy.

  1. Bishop, "woe to you when all men speak well of you.." Luke 6:26. I applaud you for speaking your opinion. Seems like there are those who still resent the messenger as well as the Master's message. Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.

  2. he shows his own lack of understanding of the religious scriptures he pretends to live by and preach.

in following his logic....how, pray tell, does a Republican cast a vote for Jesus?

who would Jesus deny healthcare to? or how much would He charge?

the GOP's fiscal policies are a direct contradiction to the messages attributed to Christ.

Sodom? not one mention of homosexuality. ezekiel 16 - it's explicitly clear that the "sin" is greed and the hoarding of wealth.

so, if you vote GOP, you're contributing to creating a modern-day Sodom. At least, scripturally speaking.

but hey, i gave up on expecting logic and reason and consistency from the RCC years ago.

  3. @LittleKiwi: It's amazing how some of the Religious Right can contort the NT into supporting their positions. Such as Jesus would have opposed the minimum wage.

  4. COME ON FOLKS, the real reason the "Church" is against abortion and Homosexuality, is that both, generally, result in fewer children to be raised to be dues paying members of the "Church". Extended to the future, this means that the Pope, etc, will have less money to live their life style without really producing anything worthwhile in the marketplace. As always with the Church, it is Money, Money Money; First and Foremost.

  5. what we all need to remember is that in EVERY country around the world the political parties that run on "anti-gay and anti-abortion" campaigns do so for a VERY specific reason; their fiscal policies will screw over their voting base.

that's it. it's that simple. in EVERY nation.

people who don't have the brains to understand fiscal policies and taxation, but believe that "Abortions lead to gay muslims giving your sons AIDS in church"

    or something.

when your party starts talking negatively about "the gays" it's the number one indicator that they can't talk to you honestly about FINANCE.
