Taliban in Afghanistan Says It Wants to Kill or Kidnap Prince Harry

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says he is not worried about threats from the Afghan Taliban stating that they've launched an aggressive campaign to capture Prince Harry dead or alive, Reuters reports:

Captain_harryQueen Elizabeth's grandson is in Afghanistan on a four-month tour, based out of Camp Bastion in the volatile Helmand province, where he will be on the front line in the NATO-led war against Taliban insurgents.

"We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping," Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, told Reuters by phone from an undisclosed location.

"We have informed our commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him," Mujahid added, declining to go into detail on what he called the "Harry operations".

Said Rasmussen: "That's not a matter of concern to me. We do everything we can to protect all our troops deployed to Afghanistan whatever might be their personal background."

  1. The Queen wants to do the same thing after Harry exposed the Royal Jewels

  3. Harry should show the towelheads his ass, just like Braveheart.

  4. Why has the towelhead comment been allowed to remain?

  5. Harry should be removed. His presence endangers too many others in his unit.

  6. @JACK M
Thanks God, at least someone talks sense in matters relating to this Queens' lad.

  7. Harry, you've proven you have balls, it's time to recognize who you are makes you a target which endangers all of your mates. Go home, please and be safe.

  8. His participation in the 2008 ground campaign was cut short for this very reason. He's being re-deployed as a helicopter pilot because the risk of identification and targeted assassination is thought to be lower.

  11. Get this true Prince of a fellow out of there. The world loves him. His loss, following on his mother's, would be too much.

At the same time double-down on the towel heads as you would vermin.

  12. The royals would probably collapse if Harry was offered any special treatment. They are expected to be military leaders. Well, the men are. That said, the royal navy is down to like three ships, so the work load is a lot less these days.

  13. This whole thing is crazy. Was he scheduled to go on this mission BEFORE he got nude and had photos taken in Vegas? If he was, I don't remember reading anything about it and it wasn't mentioned in stories about those photos.

It looks like he's being sent away for embarrassing the "Royal Family," an archaic entity to begin with, and by sending him to Afghanistan they're endangering the lives of the other British military personnel! All because THEY were embarrassed, have a PR problem!

I don's care about the Queen or the Princes Charles, William, or Harry one way or the other, but I DO care that other lives may be endangered by Harry's presence. If he offended the delicate sensibilities of the Royal Family or the British public, then strip him of his title and/or send him to do humanitarian work someplace where he WON'T endanger the lives of others!

It's disgusting that others may die because the idiotic and anachronistic Royal Family is embarrassed!

  14. I'm sure there is a lot of guys who would love to kidnap Harry...

  15. @Tarun: 1) Because they wear towels on their head; and 2) Because it's more polite than 'Raghead'.

  16. his presence there not only endangers his unit but threatens world security as well. lest we forget, many factors caused the first world war but it was the assassination of the archduke ferdinand that sparked the outbreak.

those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

    pull him out now.

  18. I am an Irish-American taught by my immigrant Irish grandparents that the British Monarchy was evil. That said, I like that young ginger Prince and I think it is a very bad idea to have him as a target of Taliban extremists in Afghanistan. His death or capture would be such a victory for the evil Taliban. Get him the f*ck out of Afghanistan.

    Posted by: andrew | Sep 10, 2012 11:39:03 PM

  19. Any person who is not a true believer in their warped extremist religion is a target of the Taliban. If Harry's presence flushes them out of their worm holes so that its easier to wipe them off the face of the earth, all the better.

  20. Don't worry guys. They can't do anything.
I'm going to go to Afghanistan soon.
Anyway, G-d bless our men and women in uniform.

  21. To Caliban: It makes me sad that there are people so stupid that they think the Royal Family would be so angry about some silly photos that they'd send one of their members into a war zone? OF COURSE it was planned before. Harry is a full-time serving member of the British army, he can be deployed anytime. And don't insult his service by saying he's putting his fellow soldiers in harm's way. They're in Afghanistan! They're already in bloody harm's way! You think the British monarchy's an anachronism. Good for you! I'm sure the Brits are crying tears inside that Caliban, a character from that well-known English pro-monarchy patriot William Shakespeare's play The Tempest, doesn't approve of their system of government. Because that republic has worked out so well in America!

To Jed: Jed, please don't major in History. WW1 was caused by the complex network of alliances between Russia, France, Serbia, Germany and Austria-Hungary, not simply the assassination of a royal. Don't worry your pretty little head about WWIII.
