Will and Sonny's Smoldering Kiss on 'Days of Our Lives': VIDEO

The long-brewing romance between Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) is about to get official with a kiss on tomorrow's Days of Our Lives. As TV Guide notes, "Their first kiss, which aired last month on the NBC soap, was such a hot awkward mess it sent Will straight to bed with (gasp!) a girl."

Things look as though they're getting a lot more comfortable.

  3. American TV is 30 years behind. I can't believe so many gay adults get so excited over nonsense like this !

  8. @ICEBLOO (and perhaps POMMIE) You miss the point of why this is a big-ish deal. When there were no Gays on television the type of people who watch daytime soaps (and you know what I mean) could imagine Gay people were as horrible as their lurid imaginations would allow. They saw nothing else, so their only concept of "Gay" was prancing, lisping, effete (<-- not that there's anything wrong with any of that) child molesters. Now their concept of "Gay" shares dissonance with Will and Sonny, along with other visible, affirmative, "respectable" portrayals of Gays and Lesbians.

They Gay men who find this clip exciting have a sense of who we are, where we came from, and how long we waited to get to this point. If you're paying any attention at all you'll see it's a big deal.

  13. Straight boys dispassionately kissing does not interest me.

  14. I hope to live to see the day that a scene like this is so accepted and commonplace in the media that it does not warrant a post on a blog like Towleroad.

In the meantime, Andy, keep up the good work.

  15. @AG
Those days will endanger the very own existence of towleroad. LOL but I really look forward to it.

  16. Nuke's first kiss on As The World Turns was 10 times more passionate than this. The actors need to step up.

  17. Smoldering? What an overstatement.

  18. I'm glad the actors weren't all over each other and hyper-passionate. It's a first kiss between two people. I don't know about your experiences, but my first kisses with people tend to be more like this. Sometimes subtle and soft and exploring is better.

  19. Don't expect a story of smooth romantic sailing. US soaps are nothing if not predictable--and all signs are pointing to an pregnancy storyline with Will and Gabi throwing the Sonny romance into a tailspin.

  20. i am still surprised day time television has this!!! imagine a beauty shop in Texas with Day's of our Lives, on and a gay kiss comes on... we all know most of those TV sets are so old they can't change the channel... love it.

  21. At least in Hollyoaks, Stug used tongues. Ok, both actors are gay irl.

  22. Layrrockett - Yeah Nuke's first kiss was way hotter.

I'm with Sonny's mother, Adrienne. He should go for Brian instead. Hot AND Pre-med .. lol!

  24. Now that's the way it is suppose to be on Daytime Drama. Bravo, Kudos, and Perfect---Simply Perfect!!!

  25. Um...(*ahem*)...sweet, yes; smoldering? Not by a long-shot.
