Obama Ad Calls Romney Out on His Automotive Industry Lies: VIDEO

Detroit

Mitt Romney put out an ad implying that Chrysler is moving U.S. jobs to China.

Writes Business Insider:

The claim is completely misleading and false, and provoked an outcry from Democrats and reporters . The report, from Bloomberg, actually said that Chrysler is talking about adding Jeep production in China in order to serve the Chinese market. Jeep production in North America would continue unchanged.

The claim is completely misleading and false, and provoked an outcry from Democrats and reporters . The report, from Bloomberg, actually said that Chrysler is talking about adding Jeep production in China in order to serve the Chinese market. Jeep production in North America would continue unchanged.

But despite the fact that Romney's claim was demonstrably wrong, his campaign is doubling down in the new ad, which went on air this weekend in Ohio.

The Obama campaign fires back at Romney's "lie" with a new ad.

When the auto industry faced collapse, Mitt Romney turned his back. Even the conservative Detroit News criticized Romney for his 'wrong-headedness' on the bailout. And now, after Romney's false claim of Jeep outsourcing to China, Chrysler itself has refuted Romney's lie. The truth? Jeep is adding jobs in Ohio.

  1. @ Betty: Thanks for getting the accurate information. It's really shocking how the Republicans are lying.

I wish that Biden would say, "People, I don't like to use this word, but what Romney said about Jeep is a lie, pure and simple."

  3. Yes, The Detroit News endorsed Romney for President. It is because they feel he'll be able to break the gridlock in Washington. As the Obama ad pointed out, the paper also scathingly denounced Romney on the bailout. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement.

So what if Obama was opposed by Republicans who publicly stated they would oppose him tooth and nail before day one? So what if Obama had a supermajority for only four months?

So what if Romney's record in MA was truly abominable? Why else is he predicted to loose MA by 20 points?

I'm still waiting for Politifact to scream about Romney's misleading use of them.

  4. Once presented with the truth and real facts, the Romney spin doctors clear out and have nothing to say. Once their lies and half-truths are exposed they become awfully quiet. Until they move on to the next news item that is.....
