RoadThe NYT endorses same-sex marriage in all four states with ballot measures: "The freedom to marry is a fundamental right that should not have to be won or defended at the ballot box. In fact, ballot initiatives are a bad way to write or rewrite laws of any kind. RoadIowa Rep. Steve King's (R-IA) position on disaster relief: “'Can you imagine in the middle of a disaster to ask for appropriations for mitigating future disasters?' King says. 'That’s why I said no on that second round of appropriations for Katrina…because they spent it on Gucci bags and massage parlors and everything you can think of — in addition to what was necessary.' King made his comments Tuesday night during a debate in Mason City and Christie Vilsack, King’s Democratic opponent, immediately responded to that Gucci remark.
'Comments like that, Congressman King, are heartless,' Vilsack said. 'You were one of 11 congresspeople who voted against flood relief in Hurricane Katrina and you said it was the proudest vote that you ever took.'"

  1. ah yes. Another gay republican invents a story about being "violently attacked by an intolerant Gay Liberal"

    hilarious.

and thank you, Towleroad, for not running this nonsense story earlier.

from jimmy lasalvia's fabricated story about being "attacked by black youths" to the multiple made up "violent liberals" stories courtesy of that ugly republican from A-List Dallas, it's made ever so clear that gay republicans need to make up things to be victims for, to distract from their own willing-victim status as second-class House-F@ggot Republican suckups.

now, is jimmy lasalvia gonna come out and apologize for his denouncing of "liberals" from this fake-@ss lie of an "attack"? or will he remain silent as usual when he gets called out?

  2. Finally, at least one Log Cabin-er has the sense to realize that the Romney/Ryan is the most reactionary, anti-gay Republican platform since...forever. Only if Pat Robertson had won the primary in 1988 would there have been such a Republican candidate. A Goldwater, Nixon, or Eisenhower - or even a Reagan - would not have been obsessed with reversing gay rights, only denying new ones: Romney's 10K donation to Prop 8 proves he does want to reverse rights that have already been granted, and that he will do everything in his power to impose a Mormon worldview on the United States. Yes, that means appointing justices to the Supreme Court who will roll back Lawrence vs. Texas, and stacking appeals courts with judges who will be happy to permit the enforcement of those laws.

  3. Notice that the Romney surrogate doesn't really answer the question about FEMA. This quote is consistent with his prior viewpoint about getting the federal government out of it. Maybe that's why Romney ducked the question eleven times.

  4. I think you may have the Joe Simpson story incorrect. You are quoting a male escort whom no one including himself alleges is or was Joe Simpson's boyfriend. It is a quote from a male escort Simpson allegedly had a tryst with in New York City on a visit.

  6. I don't know why my above comment appeared twice. I just switched to Windows 8. I hope it's not a problem.

  8. Uganda's Speaker of Parliament: "The subject under discussion is 'Citizenship, Identity and Linguistic and Cultural Diversity in a Globalised World', please stick to it [and not homosexuality]."

What am I missing that gays don't count under all of those four headings? Just remember that the kill-the-gays bill is back under consideration.
