  1. Congratulations...however, they should have done this 10 years ago when Buckley was a little bit younger. Having a kid at 64, you'll be lucky if you live to 82 to see it graduate high school.

  3. Suddenly everyone on this thread has turned into Rupert Everett.

  4. @David Ehrenstien: People have NOT turned into Rupert Everett. Rupert thinks gays shouldn't be parents at all. All the people in this thread have said is that there's a certain age where people should not be having kids because it's not fair to the kids to have a parent that might only be alive for only the first 20 years of their life (if they're lucky), and this goes for gay AND straight people.

  5. Congrats to the couple!

And after reading all the 'Think of the children!' posts - where have I heard that before? Interesting...

  6. I think this is absolutely great.
I congratulate them and am happy for them......what a lucky kid to be born to two parents who want and will cherish such a child.

There are no age issues , just a few negative bi*ches with little to do but whine, as they do about everything.

  8. "Having a kid at 64, you'll be lucky if you live to 82 to see it graduate high school."

People in developed countries routinely live into their late 70s and early 80s. Combined with their access to medical resources, Ford and Buckley would actually have to be unlucky not to see their child graduate high school.

"People have NOT turned into Rupert Everett. Rupert thinks gays shouldn't be parents at all"

As much as it pains me to be on the same side as Ehrenstein, he's right. You think - as Everett thinks - that you are entitled to tell other people how to live their lives, or whether they have a choice to have children. If you have no interest in starting a family in the second half of your life, that's fine. But you have no cause to cast aspersions on those who do, especially when your opinion is derived from wildly inaccurate views of what seniors are capable of.

  9. Congrats to them, but why is she tweeting that?
Shouldnt they be the ones to break the news, when they are ready?
