'Embarrassed' NY Prosecutor Mark Suben Admits Porn Past: VIDEO

Suden

Just a few weeks ago, prior to his reelection, Mark Suben, district attorney of Cortland County in New York, denied rumors that he appeared in 70s-era porn. Yesterday, he changed that story, admitting that, yes, as a struggling actor he had a few turns in skin flicks.

"Recently materials have been circulated alleging that I was involved in the adult film industry about 40 years ago in New York. Those allegations are true," Suben, first elected Cortland County DA in 2008, said during a press conference yesterday. "I was an actor in adult films for a short period in the early 70s. I was also an actor in other venues including off Broadway, soap operas and commercial advertisements."

He went on:

A few weeks ago, when asked, I denied this to members of the press. I regret that and I apologize for it. I was shocked and embarrassed to be confronted with this so many years later. I was embarrassed for my family and friends who have stood by me. I also denied my actions to my family, my friends and my staff.

Suben described his work in those films, including one called The Lecher, and his subsequent lies as "bad judgement."

AFTER THE JUMP, the YouTube video made by an anonymous tipster who exposed Suben's celluloid past.

  1. Wow - he lied about something irrelevant to his job, so he should be fired for lying about it? Good grief. Do think we'd be in a better place right now if Clinton had been removed from office for doing the same thing?

  3. There are a lot of fantastic gay and gay4pay porn stars on Sean Cody,Corbin Fisher and many other sites. Many of them are bright, wholesome and educated guys who I am sure will have some great accomplishments in their futures. Ain't nothing to be ashamed of. Puritanism, fortunately is dead.

  4. I have never seen porn as the big threat to civilization that many on the right do. Although I never found porn especially arrousing, there's no doubt that it can be a tension-reliever for some - something of a safety valve for containing impulses that might otherwise cause serious harm. Better porn than rampant promiscuity or cheating on one's spouse/significant other. Truthfully though, I find R-rated movies much sexier than X's. The latter are too focused on the mechanics of sex to the exclusion of the psychology of the sex act(which is much more fascinating.)

  5. OK. So what? A man's gotta eat and pay the rent. This was decades ago, right? So, uh, what's the problem here? Does anyone care (other than the usual, panty-bunching prudes that troll around the American political scene)?

  6. I have six of the seven movies where he actually "performed" (the others are non-sexual participation). I kinda like the pre-disco daddy vibe, but I'm also really old.

  7. Citizen journalist, huh? As far as outing is concerned, has Mark/Gus ever done anything to punish people who are currently in the situation he was in then? Is he a hypocrite? An antiporn crusader?

  8. So what is the big deal?! The guy did the porn when he was young and needed the money- it's not like he was a drug dealer or a murderer.

  9. Regarding, "How could he be so dumb in this day and age to think we wouldn't find out?" .... maybe he wasn't being so dumb - he won the election didn't he? And he's getting the jokes about it out of the way well before the next election. All he had to do was to cover it up until the votes were in.

  11. I like the DA more now. Did Shakespeare, has mental plasticity- I have no trouble with it. I think his constituents may, however. I know that area and they are fairly redneck. Odd, as Cornell is just up the road.

  12. B.F.D.! I smoked weed with the future D.A. Terrance Hallinan of San Francisco, who was elected twice for doing a great job as District Attorney. I recall that Republican congressman from Illinois,Dennis Hatcher who voted to impeach President Clinton. He later was confronted with a question at a news conference "Did he ever commit adultery?" And then admitted he had a "youthful indiscretion"... at the age of 40! Leave it to a Republican to come up with a poor excuse of "being so young...at 40!" If you ask any public official or law enforcement officer if they ever smoked weed,or done something else that was not legal... there would not be anyone left to enforce the laws!!!
