"I believe that at this point, the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community will hopefully be inspired," Laughton told The Telegraph. "My hope is that now maybe we’ll see more people in the community running, maybe for alderman. Maybe in the next election, we’ll have a senator."

"Republicans are trying to hold back a storm surge of demographic change with a white picket fence. Good luck with that."

  1. I have no attraction for David Gandy, so yes, there can be too much.

  5. well... about the penquins... i thought the males ALWAYS raised the chicks. I thought the females laid the eggs then were done.

  6. From the Rove article: "Rove..[and] Mitt Romney has also been pointing to Hurricane Sandy, telling donors on Wednesday that the storm killed his momentum."

So I guess that means the Republicans are saying that President Obama was re-elected due to an act of God.

  7. So called Conservatives may be attacking Karl Rove right now but they NEED his money for the next election cycle so they will be kissing his fat, bloated ass again very soon. Republicans very quickly forget their principles and morals once money is on the table.

  8. "No, you cannot have your country back."

Actualy, Mr. Blow, most of "Picket Fence America" remains intact. It encompasses about 85% of the landmass. And it certainly can have its country back by getting rid of the part of it where you live.

What you don't know yet is that it will not be long before, having realized what has happened, there will be a secessionist movement in Picket Fence America" that will have as its goal the partitioning of the Northeast corridor and the West Coast and leaving them both out of the new country that results, a new country that will have an immigration policy that approximates those that states like Arizona and Georgia have passed.....and will enforce those policies, which will no doubt include denying residency in the new country to people such as yourself.

    Wait and see.

  10. I just plain love dogs...whether they are big or small, I can't imagine walking into my apartment and not being greeted by my dog. Although I've generally always had bigger dogs. And they've usually been older dogs that people dumped in the pound. I have a thing for the senior dogs no one wants :)

  12. If hurricanes are caused by God and Sandy helped the re-election of President Obama- then I wonder if these Christian nut now think mother nature is a left leaning lesbian?!

  13. Rick, hate to tell you this, but the extremists tried that when Obama first won, same promises and all, and it went nowhere. Guess what, it's going to go nowhere again, because you morons are not in line with the majority of Americans, even those who don't like Obama.

As usual, you don't have a clue about what you are ranting about.

  14. Rick, please hasten the day when the red states cut themselves free from the blue states to form a new country. I pray for it daily. Better hurry, though. We don't want Texas ... and it will be blue in a few years. (But if you can arrange it, we really like the Grand Canyon and much of the rest of Arizona is also beautiful, so please try to time it after Arizona goes blue but before Texas does. Thanks ever so.)

  15. I'm pretty excited to see Obama visit Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand. I worked and lived in SE Asia for awhile. Some serious issues in that region, especially when it comes to human rights violations. I'm hopeful that this visit will encourage continued democratization and openness in Myanmar. Gonna be a long slog, but it's nice to see some work being done.

  16. Once again "Rick knows"! Whatever.

  17. That cat is a Republican. Just doesn't get it.

  18. Rick, the "blue states" financially support the rest of the US. You should see how the federal dollars are spent. If the "red states" secede, you'll have to hope Texas can cover for all of them (not to mention, it's slowly going blue.) If it was just us blue states, we'd have a lot more money to spend to improve the quality of life of our citizens --- so maybe I'm with you on your plan.

  19. David Beckham - for me, sex personified.

  20. I love penguins.

I love Right Wing Watch. One post I wish they had inckuded in their compendium was from Huckabee who claimed that Obama won because not enough Christians voted. Unfortunately for him 78% of the electorate identified as Christian.
"This is perhaps the most concise illustration we have ever seen of the fact that the Religious Right is fundamentally incapable of comprehending that there are millions of people in this nation who consider themselves to be Christian but who do not share their extremist views or support their political agenda."

  21. @RICK: And, I'm sure this conservative Shangri-la you hope will emerge is a country you will love to live in since it will surely oppress, demean and outlaw self-loathing homos such as yourself.

So, as you leave the United States of Progress to go live in Republicandia, don't let the door hit you in the ass.
