RoadFred Karger on the absence of the Mormon Church in recent marriage equality battles: "So this raises the question, what will the Mormon Church do now? Will they do the right thing and leave the anti-gay campaigning to others like the Catholic Church and its political arm the Knights of Columbus? Will they pass the baton to the likes of Tony Perkins, Ralph Reed and the American Family Association? Or will they come riding back in on their White Horse and use all their money and political acumen to try and turn the tide in future gay marriage political and legal battles? I for one certainly hope not."

RoadSignorile: 5 reasons why the Christian right is warning of a revolution. "It's outrageous that [Tony] Perkins would even remotely suggest violence ("I hate to use the words," he said, "but I mean a revolt, a revolution"), particularly given that FRC was itself targeted by a gunman and Perkins was the first to claim that rhetoric against his group is what caused that violence. It betrays the fear and desperation now gripping the leaders of the decades-old political movement known as the Christian right, which is faced with some vexing realities:"

  1. After a while a pic of James Franco showing why I find him so delicious and good looking. (Sorry, watching The Golden Girls again and they, eps. Blanche, talk about men with words delicous etc.)

  2. GQ magazine is not particularly gay-friendly. I could be wrong but I don't think I've ever seen an openly gay or bisexual man on its cover. I also find that it is sexist towards women.

  3. I also have to say that I agree with the mandatory requirement for condoms in porn. The porn industry simply cares about money and not the health of its peformers.

Keep in mind that the straight porn industry is homophobically hypocritical. It allows female-female sex but bans male-male sex in movies that contain both genders. Many female performers refuse to work with bisexual men.

    These are ugly, ugly people.

  4. Interesting that the gay principal in Australia made Towleroad. The news has done a good job of just reporting the facts and the board has kept mum about things. What this means to readers of a site like this is that there was some kind of prejudice going on. Not at all. The school new he was gay when they hired him. It was never hidden so no discrimination but rather real risk taking on their part. However, the guy turned out to be a disaster. over 50 teachers left the school in 3 years and another 15 were poised to resign. He was very ineffective, was never around, didn't know the kids or staff, and caused morale to plummet.

  5. Gene,

It's true that some gay men hide behind their gayness to cover up their incompetence.

  7. THE POSSIBILITY OF A VIOLENT REVOLUTION BY THE ROMNEY SUPPORTERS/CHRISTIAN RIGHT IS QUITE POSSIBLE. FROM WHAT I'VE BEEN READING, THEY ARE PLENTY PISSED THAT OBAMA WON AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT AMERICA HAS CHANGED AND THAT THE MAJORITY IS DISPLAYING MORE ENLIGHTENED THINKING. SO WATCH YOUR BACKS MY DEARS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT BECAUSE IT'S NOT OVER YET. BLESS ALL OF YOU MY DARLINGS.

  8. Oh shut up Tyler. Gene not only has information (I hope) but if so he and Jason are right. This needs to be looked into carefully.

  9. The theists are planning something evil toward America. They need to be made an example of, to show that terrorism of any kind will not be tolerated. They need to pay for their crimes against humanity.

  10. you know, I actually think the condom law is stupid. first off, most studios are going bareback now. it's where the money is.

secondly, why should pornographic studios be mandated to force performers to use condoms?

we don't force other movies to portray the safest things. There are no laws forcing actors to wear seat belts in movies, or to ban smoking. There are no laws against the portrayal of drinking or even gun play.

pornography is the exact same as any other movie, and all this demonizing, and moralizing of it is ridiculous.

  11. Why do we care about Jeremy Renner? I mean, he's a good actor and is decent looking. But what makes him notable for this website?
