  7. The Mayan calandar does not predict the end of the world; the Mayans never predicted the end of the world. The Mayan calandar is a count down calendar rather than the cumilitive style of calendar that we use today and starts all over again tomorrow. It is based in astrological cycles meant to tie the heavens/astrology with the birthdates of their kings/politicians of their time. The idea a an end of the world prediction is a modern day rumer that got tangled into the Mayan Calendar.
