The Simpsons' Mr. Burns Explains the Fiscal Cliff: VIDEO

Burns

Mr. Burns is one of those despondent Republicans upset over the recent election loss. However, he's still got some fear tactics up his sleeve - the upcoming "fiscal cliff". In this brief clip, he tries to explain what might happen if you don't let the richest people keep their tax cuts.

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

In related news, if you're interested in taking action against Republican resistance on the Fiscal Cliff, here's a new website called The Action which is working to end the Bush tax cuts for the richest two percent. You can sign the petition in support of Pelosi's Discharge Petition or learn how to call key members of Congress, and demand an end the Bush tax cuts. Here's also a round-up of related events.

  1. I can't even remember how long it's been since I laughed at something The Simpsons did. I think it's been over a decade now, at least. It's such a shame for what used to be the cleverest show on TV in the 90s. Just kill it already, there's nothing worth saving.

  2. Haven't seen the show in ages. Harry Shearer's Mr. Burns seems to have lost all the edge. Guess I'd get tired after 20 plus years too. What's most disturbing is that Fox wants to play it both ways. Whatever sells.

  4. The Simpons is classic and consistently hilarious. How something can last that long and still be so entertaining is amazing. Love it...

  5. I agree with Ken. I don't watch it regularly, but when I do catch it I find it to be funny and entertaining. Much more so than *shivers* The Cleveland Show.

  6. FYI: The reason 47% of all Americans pay no federal income tax [get refunded] is because of the Bush 'middle class' tax cuts. A LOT of people are in for a bit of shock when they find out.

WE OF COURSE SHOULD STOP BAILING OUT MEGA INDUSTRIES...UNFORTUNATELY TOO LATE FOR 'WALL ST' [thank you Mr. Bush and President Obama]. The trillion $ student loan scam/debacle is the next bail out.

Our left/right two party system is OF COURSE a scam. And the last laugh is on the average Joe and Jane Schmoe.
