  1. "whether life's disabilities have left you outcast, bullied or teased, rejoice and love yourself today 'cuz baby you were born this way."

i don't know which group is more stupid - the anti-gay ones who ignore the message of empowerment and focus on some, uh, "you're not born gay!" stance.

or the stupid gays who seem to think that what Gaga was writing was merely, and literally, "homosexuality is an innate biological orientation"

neither are correct, which of course means that stupid people will continue to yell them anyway.

    oh well.

  2. Jeremy's ex-girlfriend? More like his baby's surrogate mother. Boy that closet door is shut real tight, isn't it?

  3. Jack M: I was thinking exactly the same. It's really weird that the had a child with an ex, and come on, his sexual orientation is not exactly a secret

  4. I would have a time referring to anything as "equality" as long as there is any asterisk denoting, "except for the Church of England, which is forbidden from treating gsy couples as equals."
This proposed law in England and Wales should achieve "marriage almost-equality." The fight to be treated as equals will continue.

  5. Ahh, so he's gay. So this is why Jeremy Renner is always mentioned on this blog? I was thinking, he's okay looking, but certainly not worth the number of posts he gets on here. But, if he's family: Welcome home, Jeremy!

  6. Ed Speleers is one hot young man. I believe he will be playing Thomas's (the valet/footman) love interest this season. They'll probably be a very interesting couple as both are easy on the eyes.

  7. So FFA is flying a banner that says "NOT BORN THIS WAY".

How wonderful. I mean, yes, we all knew that already, didn't we? But I think we should be happy for them for finally admitting it to themselves. It's so much easier to live in the truth. So no, you weren't born that way. You were not born bigots. You can change.

  8. GregV:
I think it is a reasonable compromise. A lot of US states also have religious exemption. The conservative party is in a difficult position without this provision to exclude the Church. The Church of England is a state church. Their refusal to allow gay weddings in the church will be illegal without the exemption. It will also encourage more conservative members to support the law.

  9. I don't really like either Jack Antonoff or Lena Dunham.

Posted by: stephen lucas | Jan 16, 2013 5:36:00 PM

  10. 1. Wow, he is way hotter than on Downton.

    2. Renner makes me sad.

    3. That banner should read, "Free Publicity for Antics of Well-Meaning But Already Tired Dimwit."

  11. Jack Antoneff sounds more self serving than anything isn't the whole band gay??...

  12. The crazy closet cases are going berserk. The November referendum pierced their little cocoon of safely assuming American would never vote for equality. I suspect we'll see more of the bifurcation we've already seen...moderately sane Republicans like the Newt realizing the hopelessness of it all, while the full-on nutcases try to make up lost ground in every way possible.

  13. I was talking about the Florida Family flying a kite (just about as useful) at the Gaga concert. But I'll also note it's not surprising that Jennifer Roback-Morse has a rather masculine voice. Really, are there ANY anti-gay activists who don't seem like closet cases? Someone, please name one! Oh wait, I forgot, I'm not really sure about Maggie Moo.

  14. "....searing in......? Spell check, Andrew, spell check... if you need a good proofreader, I'm available. Seriously.

  15. Jamal49,
Searing is a properly spelled word so spell check is of no use. Proofreading or copy editing should have caught that, though.

  16. Please someone explain to me why some of you seem to be so certain about Jeremy Renner's sexual orientation. Is it because Andy chooses to report about him on this blog? Or did he actually sleep with one of you? As far as I know, it's only hearsay that started when he put up for sale a house that he co-owned with his best friend.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but that doesn't mean anything.

  18. Wow, I clicked on the "Right watch" "Right wing, whatever...the top five topics are about hate, homos, more hate, hate the homos, some hate, then hate on Obama. Wow, they're Christians, right? With all that hatred, Jesus could never find a way into their hearts...nor that awful website. I think their heads are about to collectively explode. Hopefully, the new gun legislation will do the trick.

  19. @Stranded - please read the cover article on Jeremy Renner in one of last year's issues of Esquire. Renner's association with his BF sure seems like he's gay to me, and I'm not using wishful thinking.

    Posted by: Jack M | Jan 17, 2013 8:06:26 AM

  20. stranded: I didn't even find him attractive or follow his career, but his sexual orientation doesn't seem a secret.
Some people said the same about Zachary Quinto or Matt Bomer and both turned out to be gay
