RoadCatholic League nutjob Bill Donohue says 'gay dog' story proves that gays get 'special rights': " It must be said, though, that the shelter is not exactly inclusive in its policies. To wit: Had poor Elton not been identified as a homosexual, his heterosexuality would not have been enough to save his hide. The moral of the story is: Being gay is not only a bonus for humans these days, it is a definite plus for dogs as well. As for straights, the lonely and the disabled, that’s another story altogether."

  1. Bill Donohue can chill out and know that if someone had given up their dog becuase it was "Catholic" it would be adopted just as quickly. Some people have no sense of humor!

  2. avoid Va., like the plague of hate and bigotry it is!

  3. Bill Donohue failed to take into account that the dog's life would likely not have been jeopardized had his owner not suspected him of being gay.

  4. We tried to watch Grey Gardens (the original documentary) last weekend and and my partner and I were both too bored to continue after 25 minutes. I realized afterward that it was later re-done as an HBO movie starring Jessica Lange. Now I'm wondering which version is it that other people say they liked?

  5. Just more proof that Lady Gaga is copying every thing about Madonna.

  6. The US has the most adulterated food supply in the world; which may come as a shock to most people, but those of us that have to watch out for an array of specific allergy provoking ingredients rather quickly learn this, with the natural further investigation such conditions demand.

Though I'd hardly call horsemeat an approved additive, it just goes to show how we get all upset when an unapproved additive is exposed as widely used.

Then again, one might question the veracity of the DNA tests that have been done that arrive at the conclusions that there is actually horsey added to BK burgers. It's not as though scientists haven't been shocked before that their assumptions about genetic sequences being entirely original to something were way, way, waaaaaay off.

On a lighter note, it's charming and funny of Morrissey to make a joke out of his bladder infection hospitalization that rendered my 4 Reno tickets of little consequence, this being my second attempt to see him. The first was back in NC during the Kill Uncle tour. He cancelled his appearance then too. I guess it's just not meant to be...

  7. Jack, if you read the article, it was only the UK Berger King's. Let's get real, why would US stores use a Polish supplier for beef?

  8. GregV, the original GG documentary is legendary but I find it difficult to get through too. The HBO movie is fantastic and Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange are amazing in it. Definitely recommend it.

  10. Grey Gardens was restored by Ben Bradlee and Sally Quinn who bought if from Little Edie. I believe they continue to own it. Here's an interview with Sally regarding the purchase.

  12. David Beckham is not the highest paid soccer player in the world. Leo Messi is.

And if you list them by salary, excluding endorsements, I don't believe Beckham is even in the top 10.

  13. I thoroughly enjoyed the HBO version of Grey Gardens....it had more story behind the documentary, and thier personal lives as well....

  15. It was a little strange to feature almost exclusively white NFL player in that "50 hottest" list, given that the league is 2/3 black...

  16. Is Hank Plante on crack? In what unicorns and rainbows universe was he in when he wrote that article? Oh wait, he must be trying to be ironic! While there have been great strides accomplished in the past year and those who worked so hard to make them happen deserve our thanks and praise. But over ? Not even close and the only fat lady I hear singing wears a 49ers uniform and today she sings a different tune.

  17. I'll cop to watching the "Naked" episode of Glee, a show I stopped watching after last (lackluster) season, purely to see lots of Trouty Mouth nearly naked. I was not disappointed.

  20. BITTER... - it's because it's Friday night and no one has asked any of us out. Guess I'll just make up a big vegetable dish and and while chopping parsnips pretend they're Little Kiwi's fingers.

  24. @ UFFDA

Please! You and I both know that 88% of Towleroad readers are bitter, pathetic, hateful, petty queens. And you're probably one of them.

  25. AUDI-OWNER ( what a laughable nom de plume, are we supposed to be impressed by such a transparent bid for attention?) - There are in fact a lot of sharp people who show up on Towleroad. Be sure you're not categorizing yourself.
