Rick Astley Has Cover Date with Morrissey

Rick Astley will be joining Morrissey on the cover art for his latest reissue.

Pitchfork reports:

Last month, Morrissey added David Bowie to his ever-growing list of foes: Bowie allegedly wouldn't let Morrissey use a previously unseen photograph of the pair for the artwork of the reissue of Morrissey's 1989 single, "The Last of the International Playboys". Fortunately, Morrissey's second choice, Rick Astley, didn't let him down: A photo of the pair backstage at BBC's "Top of the Pops" in 1989 will grace the single's cover.

In other news, Morrissey has reportedly been hospitalized with pneumonia:

The 53-year-old singer is currently being treated for double pneumonia at a hospital in San Francisco, Calif. and has been forced to reschedule shows as he recovers.

According to a WENN report, a statement from Morrissey's rep states, "Morrissey is presently being treated in San Francisco for 'double pneumonia', but remains on course to headline the Vive Latino festival in Mexico City on March 14."

Yes, Joseph, he really does! Saw him in concert recently and it was like hanging out with a friend that can sing. I highly recommend if you ever get the chance to see him. Hilarious, too.

I remember seeing this shot back in the day. Cute.

Still, I’d love to see the one with Bowie, who has become a huge curmudgeon with age—so you’d think he’d have lots in common with Moz.
