Syrian Hackers Hijack E! Online's Twitter, Tweet News Item Claiming Justin Bieber is Gay

The Syrian Electronic Army took responsibility for hacking E! Online's Twitter account on Saturday and tweeting out a series of items which included news that Justin Bieber had come out, Mashable reports.

"Exclusive: Justin Bieber to E!online: I'm a gay" said the first tweet followed by "Angelina Jolie admits, in E! latest issue, that Jordan is to blame for the Syrian refugees' atrocious conditions"

The group responsible for the hack is aligned with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and also took responsibility for hacking the AP last week, a hack which sent stock markets into a momentary plunge.

  1. They really need to work on their English if they want to be believable. . .

  2. Hate when hackers screw up these pranks by screaming who they are and that they have hacked something. It's like they don't know how to insert who they are in a discreet way.

  3. Just another reason not to have a Twitter account. There is no e-security with those guys.

  4. Oh, the humanity!!!

You hack into a (fairly) major Twitter account and calling Justin Bieber gay is the best you can do? Let's just hope they don't escalate their acts of electronic terrorism and suggest his mother wears Army boots!

    Lamest hack EVER.

  6. I didn't know they still have electricity in Syria, much less an 'electronic army'. Don't they have more important things to do in Syria than prank E! Online?

  7. "...a gay"? Never. FAIL.

  8. The Bieber is a fake, he ain't gay.

  9. These guys blew their prank by revealing themselves way too soon. Hopefully enough Bieber fangirls took it seriously and removed themselves from the gene pool via suicide.

  10. What a horrible comment FuryofFirestorm. Hoping young girls commit suicide. Think about what you are saying. Not okay.

  11. @fern: have you seen/listened to Justin's fangirls? They were stupid enough to shave their heads when a prankster posted fake tweets as Justin and told them to do it. They sent death threats to Kim Kardashian just because she stood next to him in a photo. If those wastes of space off themselves, nothing of value would be lost.

  12. I'm not sure if their obsession with Beiber or homosexuality is the more absurd aspect of this.

  13. The Syrian Electronic Army have a sense of humor. I thought it was pretty funny.

Bieber needs to grow some facial hair or something, start acting, dressing and looking like a grown dude, not a lil' boy, if he wants to be taken more seriously. His current business model has about run it's course.

  14. huh? I thought Justin Bieber was a lesbian.

    Posted by: DannyEastVillage | May 6, 2013 7:18:20 AM

  15. @ratbastard: unfortunately, Justine is trying to convince people that she's not a tweeny-bopper act by acting like a wannabe thug and dressing like Vanilla Ice. It's all so sad, watching her flail against her inevitable slide into obscurity.
