Bryan Fischer Defends Elisa Chan, Says 90 Percent Of Americans Find Gay Sex 'Repulsive': VIDEO

Bryan Fischer

Just days ago, a recording was leaked in which San Antonio Councilwoman Elisa Chan called gay people "disgusting". She has spent the last few days defending her remarks against the subsequent outrage rather than apologizing, and claiming the the homophobic remarks were simply "taken out of context". Now, noted and vocal homophobe Bryan Fischer is rushing to her aid, claiming that the views she expressed are shared by a vast majority of the American people.

Elisa ChanOn his radio show yesterday, Fisher said that Chan should not apologize for her comments, since "these are things that anybody who is thinking rightly and clearly about homosexuality would believe.":

"I would guarantee you 90% of the American people, if they would stop and think about what actually happens in homosexual sexual behavior, they would find it disgusting...they would find it abhorrent. There's something revulsive about it, that's exactly what God thinks about it, that's why he calls it 'an abomination'."

Of course, even if Fischer's statement has any base in fact, it is still hardly relevant. Even if a majority of the population doesn't find gay sexual activity to be appealing (which is, by definition, what would make them "straight" to begin with), it still does not justify discrimination against members of the LGBT community under the law. Furthermore, even if Chan's views are shared by other members of the American public does not mean she has the right to express them while executing public office.

  5. I will repeat again, Ms. Chan is a PUBLIC official making public policy and therefore what she says and thinks cannot be private

  8. Not to "repulse" anyone...because there's nothing repulsive about it to me, but can we point out that straight sex involves body cavities too...and they contain material some may find "repulsive". Do I need to name them...no, we know their names. Body fluids are not always pretty to think about...but we all have them, it's just that they find ours repulsive and we're simply not interested in discussing theirs.

  9. Bry-99.999999% of the people find you repulsive- and yet you persist in lecturing to us.
Also- the person in question is supposed to represent all of her constituents. We are not interested in her personal opinions or belief in the sky fairy.

  10. I see he's tagging onto the "gag reflex" shtick that others have written about recently.

  11. The thing is, I think we all know, at least when you see the BLATANT double standards between how man/woman and man/man and even woman/woman and man/man is treated in society, by TV/movies/music, and we can go on, that a lot of people may find homosexuality displeasing from a mechanical sense.

But the thing is, most heterosexuals, including those who may be against marriage equality, don't think about homosexuality to feel actively repulsed by it. They may not like it, but they don't really care. It doesn't affect them.

Why it affects men like Bryan Fischer so much? I think we all know the answer.

  12. Funny thing: Thinking of Bryan Fischer bumping uglies with any sentient animal-- human or not (hey, what he does in barns is between him and the sheep, horses, goats and/or cows)-- makes me throw up in my mouth a little...!!

  14. These people are beneath contempt: liars who'll do and say anything to keep the dollars rolling in from twisted, morally constipated and willfully ignorant donors.

  16. Whatever the number actually might be, it's still far less than how disgusting people think any kind of sex with Bryan would be.

  17. God Bless Towleroad, Joe.My.God, et al for monitoring this excrement for those of us whose constitutions are too delicate to listen to such rubbish.

  18. What's interesting to note is that Chan never said anything about being disgusted by "gay sex", she was talking about gays in general and adoption, etc.

The only person thinking about gay sex in this story is Mr. Fischer.

    As usual.

  19. @Dave, some anti-gay folks are just trolls seeking attention. The WBC for example. The question is, should anti-gay trolls be given the attention they seek? I don't know who Bryan Fischer is, what he does for a living, etc. Just because someone has a radio studio in their basement doesn't mean they are newsworthy. The WBC also has a basement radio studio. Nobody listens to it, like Byran's radio "station", which is not available anywhere except to "RightWingWatch". RWW probably is Byran Fischer.

  20. If gay sex is really that repulsive to you Brian, why are you watching it and why are you such an expert on gay sex?

  21. Repulsive, yet strangely arousing.

  22. Umm, R.J. Aguiar, what the heck are you saying when you state "does not mean she has the right to express them while executing public office"? She plans to kill public office or a member of the public? No, you must be attempting an opinion which goes like this: As a public official, she is entitled to her personal views of various people and acts, but not the use of homophobia in crafting public policy. Now that would make sense. Your inarticulate wording suggests censorship on the altar of political correctness which is a very slippery slope for the LGBT (or any minority) community.

  23. A seach of Google shows that Bryan Fischer is ALL OVER LIBERAL WEBSITES, Huffington Post, Daily Kos, etc .. et al .. ad nausem. That's who is spreading this stuff. Liberals love Bryan Fischer!

We should all care what some d-bag with a basement studio furnished by Radioshack has to say. Riiight. Hey, I just bought a new suit from Sears so I can look presentable to my 10 Youtube subscribers.

    *dog barks in background*

aw darn it, now I have to edit that out!

    *opens Pinnacle Studio*

  24. Kev C:

"If it wasn't for gay sites like this one or Joe.My.God, I would never have heard of this guy."

Then I guess you missed the mainstream press articles about every single GOP presidential candidate going to visit him and kiss his ass.

  25. Mr. Fischer finds gay sex so repulsive that not a day goes by where he doesn't obsess about it.
