Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI) Admits it Would be a 'Dream Come True' to Impeach Obama: VIDEO

Kerry_BentivolioAt a town hall meeting Monday, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI) shared his fantasy scenario of being remembered as the congressman who impeached President Obama. And the only thing stopping his "dream" from becoming a reality sooner? Bentivolio says he has no concrete evidence of Obama's impeachment-worthy schemes...yet.

Mediaite reports:

Answering a question from an attendee about what Congress is doing to stop Obama "from everything he's doing against our Constitution," Bentivolio said, "You know if I could write an [impeachment] bill and submit it, it would be a dream come true...."

"I went to my office and I've had lawyers come in," Bentivolio continued. "These are lawyers, PhDs in history and I said 'tell me how I can impeach the President of the United States.'" But they advised him that he would first need some evidence.

"Until we have evidence," Bentivolio said, "you're going to become a laughing stock if you've submitted the bill to impeach the president because number one, you've got to convince the press. There are some people out there no matter what Obama does, he's still the greatest president that they have ever had. That's what you're fighting."

With delusions like this, Bentivolio seems well on his way to becoming that 'laughing stock' he mentioned...

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

  3. While the Extremists might want to embarrass Obama, they forget that "impeachment" is merely an indictment...not the resulting trial, or an official's actual removal from office.

Besides, what Republican actually wants Biden as President??

  4. Nixon resigned facing almost certain impeachment and removal, over domestic spying incidents that appear almost trivial when compared to Obama. Obama has violated his oath in almost every way possible, including killing American citizens without trial.

  5. These stupid, racist, homophobic gun-nuts just can't stand it that we elected Barack Obama for yet a second term. (Cue sad trombone)!

  6. Dream on wingnut Bentivolio. You will have Obama as OUR PRESIDENT for a few more years and then probably Hilary next. Nightmares for the wingnuts; great for America!!!

  7. Give me a break - these tea bagging goons practically get a wet dream over their fantasies of bringing down one of the greatest Presidents we've ever had. They need to get some real work done - can you believe this republican house has passed almost NOTHING? They need to be fired.

  9. Does he not realize that it's, um, crazy, racist, delusional, transparent, etc. to be fantasizing (really?) about impeaching someone before he can even think up a REASON for impeachment?? His lawyers say he needs proof to get the press on his side. But if he hasn't done anything that warrants the bad press, just maybe there is nothing to warrant his impeachment. Hmm? Maybe I am just being logical and stating the obvious, but he complains about Obama and wanting him gone without stating anything to warrant such a maneuver. And stating "everything he's doing against our Constitution" is a vague statement that doesn't actually saying anything. (Not to mention it was the Republicans and Bush who pushed through all these laws that violate privacy and directly contradict the Constitution. Were they calling for impeachment then?)

  10. Geoff: You play right into it. Obama, at least after the next 3 years, will go down as one of the most inept, inexperienced and worst Presidents. Having elected him, will prove to have been very bad for our country. And it has nothing to do with his race. or kissing up to gays and their misguided desires. Gays are still despised. Progress? Drones and Obamacare... weak leader. Watch history...

  11. The Republican wingnuts will still be trying to impeach Obama and prove he's not an American in 2017.

  12. Obama is an excellent President. Obamacare is on track to greatly improve health care for Americans. He has used his office, like no other President, to improve the lives of LGBT people and improving they are. He has made outstanding appointments to the Courts, Ambassadorships and Executive Branch Offices. His use of Drones to kill those who would kill us is the best military option available to him. I am so proud that I had the opportunity to vote for him twice. I look forward to voting for Hilary or another leading centrist or liberal democrat in 2016 to keep the wingnut Republicans from attempting to turn the USA into some kind of a weak kneed theocracy, where the super rich avoid paying their fair share in taxes, where the minimum wage workers don't get a raise and where the middle class continues to shrink!!!

  13. Get a clue, Andrew. Drone warfare is reprehensible and only a racist sociopath would disagree.

  14. On his way to becoming a laughing stock???

Dude is already there and running to become it's king.

  15. @JMC: Speaking of getting a clue, do you really think that calling someone you disagree with a "racist sociopath" is a way to persuade them of your point of view? I happen to think that drone warfare enables us to kill those who are planning to kill us without sending in ground forces which would actually cause more military and civilian deaths. I know that I haven't convinced you, but neither have I called you any nasty names.

  16. "I don't have the evidence to impeach Obama? But isn't his being black evidence enough?"

  18. Shut up racist trolls. Go away before someone drops a house on you. Pick up a book, start a hobby. This is so tedious and old....and pathetic.

  19. This is what the Republican Party has become. It was once the proud party of Lincoln, but that was many years ago.

Now, having no real message of their own, they are looking to impede the party in power by inventing reasons to impeach presidents. In this case, he's openly stating that he just hasn't found any excuse yet.

Note that in the 1960s when Democrats finally showed segregationists the door, the Republican Party welcomed them and just drooled over getting them. The legacy of Lincoln was completely ignored and now does not live in the current Republican Party (even if it might still get lip service therefrom).

  20. I think President Obama is one of the mos remarkable presidents ever. Today's Republican party is a mess of do-nothing, bigoted, obstructionist, science denying, lying, cheating fools who would rather see this country run into the ground than to do a single thing that might help the president help the people of this nation. They are useless frauds. The fact that President Obama has been able to accomplish as much as he has with all the crap that gets thrown at him is a testament to his greatness. MY dream come true would be to vanquish all the worthless Republicans in politics.

  21. Eight years of Bush 43,and I do not recall any elected Democratic politician ever speaking about using the "Impeachment"card! I am beginning to believe there are no good Republicans... because none respond to a PUTZ like this. Hey, I know there are a few Democratic wackos... but compared to Republicans there are few and far in between.I remember President Truman calling the Republican led Congress... the Do nothing Congress in the late 1940s. But this Republican Congress is the DO NOTHING RIGHT WING CONGRESS! My mission is accomplished!

  22. Rethuglican wet dreams are so, well, unimaginative. Fantasizing about impeachment is a total hard-off, Kerry needs a libido transplant. Just look at him, poor thing. "Nerd" doesn't even begin to describe this loser.

  23. What an idiot.

  24. Now he knows what it's like to have Bush/Cheney walk away scot-free. At least Obama tries to move the country forward--admittedly in baby steps.

  25. @ERIC Go reread your damned history about Richard Nixon and his near-impeachment. It wasn't about "domestic spying". It was about interfering in the political process illegally and then trying to cover it up and lying about it. It was also about money laundering and knowing about the money laundering and lying about it. God, if this is what the educational system of ours is spewing out, we're all f*cked.
