Did Michael Jordan's Daughter Come Out Via Instagram?- VIDEO

Screen Shot 2013-09-11 at 9.40.19 AMLast week, Michael Jordan's 20-year-old daughter, Jasmine, used her Instagram to respond to rumors surrounding her sexual orientation, which began to circulate after she posted a photo (below) of her in an intimate hug with another woman.

Gossip blogs have speculated that the other woman in the picture is Jasmine's girlfriend, Carmen, a player on the Syracuse University women's basketball team.

Jasmine, the daughter of the former Chicago Bulls star and his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy, is not ready to discuss her sexuality yet, however. She writes, on Instagram:

"Until Love, Trust, Honesty, Respect, Loyalty, Commitment, Genuine Happiness and other characteristics or aspects I want in a relationship is defined by one gender then and only then will I discuss my sexual preference."

  1. This is so exhausting, depressing and tiresome. Have so many black people NEVER met any gay people?? Ever??

Yeah, it's my fault for always being on social media but I've lost count of the countless amount of times that a well know/famous black person tries to either support LGBTQ rights-and they are called gay OR when a well known/famous black person is obviously showing they have a same sex partner-and posters won't stop asking if the person is gay or not!

Clearly you can tell on both counts what the situation is! Leave it!

Cara Delvigne (stupid so called super model) pretty much hinted she liked girls and boys. One person commented and said 'Oh, so you're bi'? And that was the end of that. Nothing more to say.

Hopefully the more people who come out, the less this is made into some huge social media lynching gang up. But after what happened to Collins...it's a long tedious boring road.

  2. Congrats Jasmine!
Now, Michael Jordan has a lesbian daughter, Magic Johnson has a gay son... Larry Bird, do you have any bisexual offspring that we don't know about?

  3. I didn't quite underdtsnd what she meant by her message. Maybe it was a cryptic and long-winded way of saying:
"I'm bi, and to me the whole idea of heterosexuality or homosexuality is offensively sexist."

  4. she's 20 and doesn't want to declare yet, maybe doesn't like the way the categories are set up, so what's the big deal? plenty of young people, black and white, feel the same.

I'm pretty direct, always have been, but know many young people who enjoy being undeclared. Her statement pretty much says she's bi, and if that is what she says she is that's what she is until she says otherwise, same as anyone.

  5. Oh, for crying out loud. The word you're looking for, Ms. Jordan, is "bisexual." I can certainly understand the emotional issues involved in accepting that you aren't a part of the normative culture around you and how you want to protect yourself from judgement.

But until you learn to love yourself, how in the hell are you going to love somebody else? Can I get an amen?
