  1. If ENDA was passed back when DADT was repealed this would have been a moot issue.

  2. Many of the statements made against the ordinance have been truly abhorrent beyond words. The ordinance has been revised downward and will pass today, and the conservatives are planning a lawsuit.

San Antonio has one of the largest LGBT populations in the USA. Many don't realize that. Most people in the city think LGBT people are already protected from discrimination.

  3. The lawsuit won't succeed. This is law in every other major Texan city. They are just venting their anger.

  4. i suppose the good news is that, as usual, there wasn't a single intelligent argument against it, eh?

then the sad news is that millions of people don't care about how unintelligent their non-arguments are.

oh well. history will view this era of our fight for Equality with a sad and sober eye. brace for it, republicans, you think you look like scum now? just wait to see how you'll be remembered 20 years from now.

  7. I was born in San Antonio, but I am embarrassed to be from there.

Texas is so backward. Will the people of that state ever grow up?

  9. The Non Discrimination ordinance passed 8-3! A great day for a very old city (older than Boston!) As for the comment above "I'm embarrassed to be from there" - where exactly is it you're living that's paradise on earth? EVERYWHERE has issues. Progress is made when ordinary people come together and focus their efforts on improving life for everyone. It happened in San Antonio yesterday - my hometown. Couldn't be prouder.
