  3. The Diversity Officer should lose her case big time.

If you're the Director of Nursing Education for a college and your state legislature just passed a law to grant more state money to nursing education, you don't sign a petition to put that law on hold until the voters can decide whether to cancel the law and to reduce money that goes to nursing education. Likewise, if you're the VP for Clinic Expansion for Planned Parenthood and your state legislature just passed a law to reduce the insurance rates for clinics that provide contraception to patients, you don't sign a petition to put that law on hold until the voters can decide whether to cancel the law and reimpose higher insurance rates on clinics that provide contraception.

This women was the Diversity Officer at a college where students looked to her and her office for assistance with all sorts of discrimination issues -- bullying, academic curriculum, jobs, scholarships, etc. It's absurd for her to claim that she had a right to sign a petition that put the same-sex marriage law on hold until the voters could decide on what rights gay people can have! She can claim whatever free speech or religious rights that she wants to claim, but she can't publicly support something that undermines the very function of her office and her job. What a hypocrite. She should lose "big time".

  4. Why does a college even have a "diversity provost". What exactly does such a person do, sit around and count how many people of each ethnicity there is? What do they count one of Heidi Klum's kids as; poor and black, rich and black, German chocolate?

This is a waste of money. But, of course, Galludet by and large just sucks up OPM (other people's money) and always has.
