Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Outside NYC's Stonewall Inn: PHOTO

Best buds Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen paid a visit to Christopher Park outside NYC's historic Stonewall Inn to have a moment with the George Segal "Gay Liberation" sculpture.

Tweeted Stewart: "Stonewall! #gogodididonyc @TwoPlaysInRep"

He was referring to Harold Pinter's No Man's Land and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, opening this fall and starring the two actors along with Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley.

  4. this is a friendship that transcends anyone else's opinion. i've been attracted to performances of both men long before i heard of their friendship (or sexual orientation). their kindness of character shines through any role - glad they're getting well deserved attention.

  5. Love both of them, wish they were 20 years younger so they could be around longer
