Senator Joe Manchin Says He'll Vote 'Yes' on ENDA

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), the last Democratic holdout, says he'll vote 'yes' on ENDA, according to a tweet from NYT reporter Jeremy Peters.

Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) said he'd vote for it last night. After Manchin's 'yes' vote leaves supporters just one vote shy of having the 60 votes needed to avoid a Republican-led filibuster.

  1. Joey, Joey...Fox News is not going to like this from their token "Democrat."

  2. Good for him. He actually didn't run counter of his party and stick it to our community for once.

Being for ENDA is the safe position, for really all but the far-right conservatives. The moderate Republicans should support it just as the conservative Democrats have but they are apprehensive. If the bill is further watered down then we will have suffered a loss regardless of the final vote.

  3. I only applaud things that ACTUALLY TAKE EFFORT TO DO. This is a no-brainer, DUH, voting yes on this.

  4. The Republican Yes votes will be announced any moment, right?

  5. At this time, does it really matter? If the bill clears the senate and has any teeth at all, it will never get through the TP controlled house. Maybe, maybe with Democratic control of both houses, ENDA might have a chance. But right now it's all pretty much an exercise in futility. This is just one more reason why the Democrats must GOTV in 2014.
