  1. What happened in the Phillipines is heartbreaking, and its also a wakeup call regarding climate change. The Pacific ocean is warming fast and I fear it won't be long before the Gulf Coast or the east coast face the same size or bigger, hurricane.

  2. The Philippines is prone to these kind of deadly storms. It's not an unusual event. I'd suggest this lady was at the UN to primarily extort $ (which of course the ruling class elite in the Philippines will use ad a personal ATM machine).

  3. @Tom, actually read the same thing today in the newspaper, I am not an expert, but warming ocean creates bigger storms.
The situation in the area (based on videos on the news) is devastating, I hope those people will get help, which they needed few days ago, as soon as humanly possible.

  4. @RATBASTARD What "lady" trying to "extort" money for the elite to use? The delegate IS a man and this IS a most UNUSUAL event! One that may become much more common in the future. Your ridiculous post is definitely NOT needed now!!!

Thank you Andy for covering the UN climate change conference. Especially the heart grabbing speech presented by Naderev "Yeb" Saño of the Philippines. This country DESPERATELY NEEDS INTERNATIONAL AID NOW! The efforts to provide assistance have been hampered by continuing storms and broken infrastructure. This is a matter of extreme urgency! Currently they have NO FOOD and NO WATER and the almost certainty of DISEASE . . .

  5. @RATBASTARD What "lady" trying to "extort" money to be used by the "elite"? The delegate IS a man! This IS an UNUSUAL storm! The worst ever in fact. Your post is NOT needed now!!!

  6. What a load of crap. People, CLimate Change and environmentalism are NOT the same thing. Climate Change politics has NOTHING to do with saving the planet. It's about taking money from capitalist countries and giving it to throwbacks like EVo Morales. For god's sake, I wish you people would look at Climate Change articles with the same approach and suspicion that we do anti-gay "Studies" from the AFA and NOM. Regnerus himself could have authored most of this Climate Change crap. It's a lie, it's a vehicle for the "Progressive" idea that we somehow owe Honduras another couple of billion dollars, well, because, well because they are brown people and we are an evil white colonial power.

The Maldives are not being washed over by the ocean due to rising sea levels. It's a scam. Google it. I have sympathy for the people of the Philippines having suffered this horrible storm, but some crybaby in the UN trying to push a communist agenda gets no sympathy from me.

  7. Mike- You talk like a fool. How do you know that this is the "worst storm" evah? We have only had the technology to see and measure these things for less than a lifetime. Jesus X Christ, as a species we are one foot out of the cave and yet people like you think that we know it all.

Meanwhile, you probably want to let every candlelit Mexican, NIgerian, and Guatemalan into the US so that they can get air conditioning and a car.

Oh you care so much about the planet. Can't we all be like you?

    Where? I see nothing there.

  9. Good that they take notice of what have been theorized and warned decades ago. But in the same way that the scientist were right in predicting the climate change consequences, they are right at telling that even if all of a sudden everyone behaves ecologically well –that won’t happen by the way-, the already provoked inertia can’t be stopped, so the apart from trying to keep preventing from getting worse at least –China doesn’t care, etc- better be prepared for even worse events than that of the Philippines.
