True to form for the Palin family, Bristol's comments are light on substance and heavy on hypocrisy. Said the younger Palin of the backlash to Phil Robertson:
[I]f you don't agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn. They need to learn how to respect others' opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn't support homosexuality and gay marriage is homophobic.
It's hard to fathom any of her strawmen spewing something as hateful as Phil Robertson did in a sermon from a few years ago when he said,
They're full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, God-haters. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless, they are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil.
She also assumes, wrongly, that all opinions are valid and deserving of respect. Unfounded climate change denial, for example, is not of equal validity to evidence proving climate change to be true. Similarly, opinions baselessly demonizing gays are not of equal validity to those arguing for equality and thus are not entitled to the same level of respect.
Lastly, yes, not supporting homosexuality or gay marriage is homophobic. This is unambiguous. Just as not supporting Judaism is antisemitic and opposing miscegenation is racist, so too is not supporting homosexuality or gay marriage homophobic. Just as one need not be a robe-wearing Klan member to be a racist, neither does one need to be an Uganda-level hater to still be a homophobe.

Everyone needs to leave Phil Robertson alone for expressing his beliefs. I think it's so hypocritical how the LGBT community expects every single flippen person to agree with their life style. This flies in the face of what makes America great – people can have their own beliefs and own opinions and their own ways of life.
Everyone needs to treat others like God would, with love.
It goes both ways.
I hate how the LGBT community says it's all about “love” and “equality.” However, if you don't agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn. They need to learn how to respect others' opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn't support homosexuality and gay marriage is homophobic.
They take the easy way out every time anyone speaks out about their beliefs on the Bible.
If I were Duck Dynasty, I would take my show to another channel.
So much disrespect.
